Hi all

I’m looking for a new scope for my p3 pesting rifle, threw on a 4-16 mtc I had on another rifle, but as that one will have to go back I’m looking for something new for the p3. As this rifle posesses long range capabillities I was thinking about putting a 6-24 ffp on it as shots will average 20-60 yards for now as I get used to it. Only headshots and in practicing I found the 16x to be a bit lacking Especially past 50yards…

the thing I worry about is eye relief, the mtc is not supercheap at 400 us but the neck strain is real if and when I use it at 16x😅. The other is light transmission, the mtc at 10x (44mm objective) is usable to dusk, turn it up to 16x the image is getting pretty dark… so I guess a 50 mil objective will be in order.

what is everyone using for longer range hunting, benefits, downsides,… ? Any and all information is welcome!

thank you!

p.s. I hate christmas tree reticles with a passion, prefer a nice clean mrad cross with mill lineations and illumination.

It would be of benefit to search for an in-depth spreadsheet by Matthias (Jungleshooter) as he has done a TON of research on scopes or all makes/styles.
It is easy to read and understand.
Not sure why it's not a sticky, but whatever....
It's from 2020, but still has relevance, plus, you could also contact Matthias via PM.
