HW/Weihrauch New springer challenge.

OK I've had no problem hitting beer cans at 100 yards with my scoped Hw30. I have with my other scoped Weihrauchs, but the 30 makes me feel best about it. I've recently moved to where there's more room and tolerance towards guns.

My neighbor has been kind enough to let me shoot on to his property. He set a milk jug at 435 yards for us. We still ain't hit it. But I did set up a 3" and 6" AR500 plate at 160 yards. It's become old hat hitting them with 22lr and 223 so I figure why not put a couple of mild steel plates and give it go with the springers. I'm using thinner plates so I can hear the tink clearer. One has about three times the area as a beer can and the other about the same area as a beer can.

These are pictures of the new plates relative to my normal 100 yard beer can reference and pictures of my current arrangement.

What say you? Hw30 or any HW springer at 160?

LOL, I'm gonna like this thread! So I've posted this in the past but here's an opportunity to post it again.

Laser measured 150 yds.
Out of the box HW97 .177
Leupold 6.5-20 EFR w/TS29X1 reticle
8.64 gr. FTT's
5 oz. juice can - 4 inches high x 2 inches wide
Shooting position - folding lounge chair (lol!) and tripod
Wind - C'mon, you kidding? ZERO!

IIRC I was able to hit the can 1 out of every 4 or 5 shots. I had the elevation adjustment cranked way up in my scope and at 20x still had to use all of the 29 MOA of holdover the reticle had to offer. I did try moving the can to 175 yds. but I couldn't hit it.

I tried again at a later date using a 20 MOA droop mount and a 12 oz. soda can at 175 yds. but it was just too far to be any fun. That gun is now set up with a <12 fpe. spring and I wouldn't entertain trying any of this again.

Yes. Reticle name has been changed. It was a $175ish re-fit from their custom shop quite a few years ago. Not everyone likes "busy" reticles but this is my favorite.
