Looks like they updated the stock to a new ambidextrous version. Has a new name, the 80SL. Looks pretty good, like the stock on the HW95 Luxus.

I saw that on a video from IWA.
Probably a convenient move for them since the inletting isn't much different from an HW77K. Surprised they haven't done it sooner.
Love the forend, but that scoop under the butt they keep doing on their newer stocks is absolutely hideous to me. Completely ruins the lines of the gun IMO.

Oh yeah thumper I was thinking the same exact thing about the scoop!So many rifles are going ambi. I don't need ambi but it's a nice touch for the lefties out there..... Even tho they really aren't people or have souls.... Still good for them.

You missed my lol. Totally agree on the fangs. They had it right in 1983. Just keep the fire-arm checkering without the Weihrauch name. American Traditional. Use the old color and finish also.

I did get an HW50 recently with a beech stock that is pretty decent.
But you don't see anything like one of my R7's anymore. Had it over 35 years. I saw an early R9 on ebag with a similar stock once and somebody else eBagged it before I did. Still kicking myself. Missed out on a similar stocked presafety R7 too. Not gonna let that happen again. Hopefully......

I picked up an older 96 model R9 .20 cal recently that's not to bad in the figure department!
And yeah I really don't care for the new look stock either...

That’s a dandy 7 with a beautiful Beech stock. Timeless. That can’t cost Weihrauch so much more to produce than these new ugly ones they are coming out with. Next up will be all synthetic and no wood. Beech doesn’t get any better than this one. Congratulations.

Guess I'm just a soulless righty then, because while I like the front, the Weihrauch in the checkering I can live without right along with that mess they made of the back.

I think I like the Schnabel(ish) forearm but not too fond of the rest. I'm still a fan of the classic R1 designs.

I like the new 80SL stock. The forearm isn't any different than the 77 or 97KT.
I hated the abbreviated Hw80 stocks that didn't cover the breech block. It kept me from buying one for years.
Figures they came out with the new stock after I bought a R1. Not that I dislike the R1 stock it's decent but I'd rather started with a new gun than a used gun.

I like your R1 stock best. Just think. Anyone can get the new stock but your traditional stock are no more.

I am in the DMMike camp on this one.
I like the semi Schnabel looking fore stock treatment, but the flat section cut out on the underside of the butt just does not really do it for me.
Considering I am soulless and deplorable though, I would not run away from one for a decent price. Perhaps I could regain some of my lost humanity....
