New SWFA SS Gen 2 Scopes

Looks like SWFA came out with their SWFA SS Gen 2 series of optics with zero stop and modular turrets. Anyone have them or checked them out yet? I need to replace some of my old optics on my airguns. Hopefully they're still made in Japan like their original lineup.

Got one on the way. For holding POI on spring piston air rifles they are hard to beat.

I currently have 5 of them, with the Gen 2 being #6

Nice! Which Gen 2 model did you order? I would love to hear your impressions on it compared to the older models. Looking at the specs, the fixed 10x42 comes in at 20.8 ounces. Not bad for a 30mm main tube in regards to weight.

I got another 12x42. They perform equally as well as the 10’s. I’ll let you know my thoughts after I get the new one. Should be here later this week.

I've owned a couple G1 10X and 12X and liked them at the time. Since my eyes have aged, (yeah, I wear Rx progressives) I find that the lens quality on Arkens and Athlon scopes are better for my eyes than the SWFA
I wonder if SWFA finally upgraded the IQ in the new gen. I mounted my decade plus old SWFA 3-15 FFP on a gun I don't shoot much because it's fallen behind other Co's in IQ by quite a bit.

I have the SWFA 3-15x for 5 years now and I really like it. Really, the only issue I've ever had with it is that it's such a pain to adjust the turrets with the way the grub screws dig into the brass turret post. Do it enough times and it really chews up the post. It takes quite a bit of time and effort of tightening and loosening the 3 grub screws over and over to get it perfectly to zero. I'm glad to see that they have finally changed this.

I also have a 10x side focus and a 12x. I like both, but the 12x is just a bit clearer than the 10x. I had a previous 10x, not side focus, and it was a bit fuzzy, but otherwise worked well. I sold it and kept the two I have now. They are great scopes, and I'm a big fan of fixed power scopes, having several 10x models. My 12x is as clear as any scope I've owned and the 10x is ever so slightly less clear. It's not a huge issue, it's noticeable when using them one after another. Tracking on them is phenominal, and never an issue. My 10x is the new gen2 and my 12x is the first gen. I have a Hawke Airmax 10x, a Vector Veyron 10x, an Optisan EVX 10x and the two SWFA scopes. I would rate the SWFA in last place, but I have to premise that remark, the others are that good. The surprising part is the Veyron, it is crystal clear, tracks perfectly and is a joy to use. The really nice part of the Veyron, is it is roughly half the price of the SS scopes. So, in that respect, I'd say SWFA needs to up their game there. I have two Veyrons, and one is a 3-12x. They are both compact scopes, but it amazes me that when I measured the clicks and tracking, and repeatability, they both were easily the equal of the SWFA, DEAD ON! Which for a scope that costs less than $200 for the 10x is also amazing. I like the SWFA, but I think recent offerings from overseas are outpacing them to a certain degree.
