Well my Taipan came today about 1pm no pics looks like any other grey Standard 2, put a scope on it(BURRIS DROPTINE 4.5X14) and had it zeroed in at 32 yds in less then 5 shots. Gun seems to be accurate with JSB 18.1 gr pellets and is avg around 919fps on my chrony.
I have to get used to shooting a bullpup again so cant say its more accurate then my other guns which are all very accurate.
I just ran a shot string till it dropped off regulator and I got approx 78 shots before it dropped off. there were a few blanks fired and a few chrony errors that I counted in that.. I had a actual 71 shots recorded when it dropped off, over those 71 shots it started out at 914fps and ended at 914fps with a extreme spread of 24fps and a SD of 6... more then likely will get better as reg/gun breaks in..
Trigger on gun is good but I wouldn't call it excellent, haven't measured pull yet but its fairly light, 1st stage is short light and 2nd stage is crisp with a bit of creep. W/O the little bit of creep it would be excellent.
It seems to be very comfortable to carry across in front of your chest but carrying one handed it wants to twist in your hand due to being a bit top heavy.
Has anyone put traditional sling studs on theirs to carry it and if so how does it carry over your shoulder?
It definitely needs some type of cheek piece not a fan of the metal against the face shooting.
Anyone knows of a good 3D printed cheek piece please post a link to it.
It points very well offhand and is easy to hold steady so should be good for squirrel hunting/pesting which is how I judge my guns as thats what I do with them.
Probably going to put a different scope on it since this scope only goes to 50 yd parralax.
Will post back later on after Ive had a chance to hunt with and shoot it enough to give a better review.
