New targets from the north

I guess they will become super super pigs when they meet ours in the south. When they revert back to their original shapes, they're one of the ugliest things in earth. But they taste so good.
Hello @dv8eod

The very best homemade smoked sausage that I have ever eaten was made using feral hog and venison. However I would like to see them completely eliminated because of the massive damage that they do to the land. Here in Texas we can hunt feral hogs year around with no bag limit as long as you have a Hunting License. If you are a land owner you do not need a license.

When I was a kid, we rarely bought pork from the factory farms at the grocery store. We'd buy a whole hog from a local farmer that fed his pigs table scraps and whatever else from the garden. At around 300#, off to the butcher's.
Grandparents said the diet was everything for taste. Factory raised were more tender, but the flavor was more bland.

Cool fact about pigs is they’re all one species, or atleast all of them in the US are Sus Scrofa. I believe they all transform back into the Russian variety within a few generations and if you have alot of wild pigs that look like farm pigs they’re most likely being released which is very common in a lot of places.
I listened to a biologist from I believe it was Kentucky speak about the problem, they’re one of the states that banned pig hunting. They dug into the problem and found pigs were being spread by hunters turning them loose for hunting opportunities. It’s been a bit since I listened to that but they were one of a few states without a pig problem a couple years ago and I think they’re still holding strong.
Beware of the super pig!
