FX New to fx m4 .25 sniper, i love it but...

Having a hard time finding what to do,let me explain myself ,i want to shoot pigeon from 80 yards to 90 yards away on a 10° down hill slope from my house to the barn i bought an air venturi avenger and cannot get it done consistently, so i bought a benjamin gunnar, can't do it either not consistently miss 3 shot hit one, then i bought a challenger pro 30cal, can't even group less than 3 inches at 75 yards i cannot go with that, so i goggle "what is the best pcp for 100yards pigeon hunting "so i bought it in 25 sniper with a heavy liner, what should i do next? I got the rifle, I've shooting few hundred rounds to break in understand it etc now I need to buy the best proved ammo for it,what caind slugs what size etc.should i try pellets first for 80 yards or should i go straight to slugs? Please don't hesitate to give me your opinion because i read everything carefully so if you see others opinion but yours is different somehow that is the one im looking forward to read thank you all so much

Try H&N, NSA or Javelin slugs.

My DRS and M3 with the 1:16 liner shoot H&N 38gr up to 46gr. Really good.

Any wind variation between you and the target can cause a miss easily at 100 yards. What the wind is doing at any part of that 100 yard you don't feel at the shooting position can still affect the POI. Regardless of gun you choose you should have wind flags at a minimum of every 20 yards to gauge what's happening. Wind hitting the barn and flowing over our around it will affect POI even if you are holding for wind based on what you feel at the shooting position.

At 80-90 yards, you want to use something heavy. In .25 with the stock liner, try using the 33.9 grain options from JSB, FX, AEA, etc.

Stick with it... unless you got a complete lemon, the platform you've chosen is capable. Search for tuning guides, and practice, practice, practice. The more I shoot, the more I realize how inconsistent I am (not the the gun).

You can avoid a ton of drama and possibly hating the gun if you leave it alone and shoot 33.95gr pellets. It will be the easiest to tune the gun when you use pellets. Even if your settings aren’t absolutely perfect, any critter 100 yards or less is getting smacked if you do your part reading the wind. A slug is better in the wind but not a miracle projectile. All airguns no matter what they are shooting are not good in the wind compared to a powder burner.

AEA 33gr. Pellets. Squirrel heads (and by that I mean the <1 inch kill switch) 80 yards no problem. And clean pass-throughs, birds shouldn’t be an issue.

I agree with everyone above try some 33.95g pellets first with the stock liner. If you really need to try slugs in your heavy liner mine likes Nielsen slugs in the mid 30s at 900+fps. I have the 1:18 liner and some newer testing done by fellow forum members suggests the 1:16 is even better.

Warning you now though you will likely need to spend a lot of time and hundreds of dollars on slugs to find a decent combo. Most people never find a tune or slugs that work well. You can also try some light slugs in your standard liner if you want.

I have a M3 in 22. And they are not that hard to make shoot well. Leave it stock and shoot it. Avoid the temptation of the bells and whistles and be like Dubber crowd. Wonderfully accurate gun and there is a ton of tuning info on this forum.
I do have a Panthera 25 with the Superior STX liner. It loves Zan 33 gr slugs and at 100 yards they are very accurate and consistent. I am not a fan of heavy slugs. That is just me. I like light to medium weight as they provide the basic advantages of slugs without the headaches. No special liner required, no modifications to the gun required and you still get flatter trajectory and far superior resistance to wind drift. Also the terminal performance is better with a slug.
In your shoes I would do as others have suggested, use the 34 gr pellets and get used to the gun. Then if you want to do the slug thing you will have a good knowledge foundation to build on. See a lot of new people start off with slugs and get frustrated. They are not as easy to tune for as pellets. Some tuning experience and knowledge makes the process much easier.

From what I read the .22s are easier to tune for slugs.

From my last seven years of experience, the .25 is more difficult than a .22. That’s why I just told him to shoot pellets. No sense in having him want to chuck his gun off a bridge because of trying to shoot birds at 80 yards with slugs.

And on top of that his distances and goals are easy claps for a 34g pellet. No slugs needed this time, kinda nice not hearing "I need to take down a T-Rex at 600yds minimum" lol.

Okay i will stick to the advice ,I've been searching and loving the tunning aspects of the gun and wouldn't make sense to switch to slugs right after buying it I ordered 5 or 6 different 33 grains pellets and will learn to tunning for 6 months with few likeable you tubers out there, im overwhelmed and flattered by so many advices and I appreciate each one of your responses, today i practice for an hour and half and got few hundred rounds with some 25 grainers and got few one inch groups but some others might reach 4 and 5 inches in the very beginning but at 90 bar is shooting 880fps and at the end i got 2 group one inch in diameter at 90yards,the first day you can imagine how happy i was by the end omg,so I noticed one thing, poi change casually, enough to noticed every 2 group, I had on a barrel band and i took it off and noticed group got considerably smaller, I bought an impulse moderator that I haven't tested yet just shooting it with the stuck moderator, any suggestions on what to check or buy for poi shifting?thanks much and the liner came 1-16,will install in future not now i am listening....lol

Don’t underestimate a 25gr pellet. Many do because of the 33.95 but I have a gun that shoots mind boggling groups at 100 with a JSB 25.39. If you can keep them nice and tight with a good setting on the gun, stick with them. You’ll use less air and the guns shot cycle will make it easier to shoot far with because you’re not pushing so much pellet weight.

I found the biggest factor is the wind
