N/A New to me PCP shotgun...

Picked this old PCP gun up.
It's a small bore, about .36 cal. No name found on or inside of it.

It only has a tiny front bead and it's a smooth bore.

I'm assuming this is an early shotgun from the way it is set up. It does have a decent size main spring.

Nice to see guys like you keeping these guns going. I enjoy seeing pics of these more than I do the modern pcp’s. It’s mind blowing that hundreds of years ago they were able to make these.

Thanks, I do shoot some of them too. Amazingly this one holds air "somewhat" it has a slow leak but it holds good enough to fire it a few times.

Those things are cool as all get out. I presume that's a repro? Hard to believe how far back the originals date. Try a patched round ball out of it, smooth rifles that could handle shot or ball were all the rage once upon a time.

This is an original antique gun. I will definitely try a patched ball in it and see how it does. With no sights, other then a bead at the front, it'll be interesting to find out if I can hit anything consistently

What pressure do you fill it to?

Currently, I've only put about 200 psi into it.

I need to get the tanks valve out and check the condition of the tank for heavy corrosion or pitting. If it looks good, I'll fill it with water and test it to about 1100psi. I suspect the gun will work well using between 600 and 700 psi
