New to me Wildcat .25

Also new to PCP rifles.

Gun is averaging 860 fps with JSB Exact 25.39 gr pellets. I am not the original owner so I do not know if the pressure has been adjusted.

Is this a normal/factory FPS? I will be using it for target shooting so lower power, higher shot count is preferable.

Just got my new .25 Wildcat Thursday. It's shooting the 25.39's at 914fps and I'm getting 50 shots from 240 to 140 bar.

Even at 860 fps you are getting a respectable 41+ foot pounds of energy with that pellet:

18.13's is doing 47+ foot pounds

Congrats on an awesome new gun!! 

I've had three FX's, they varied slightly in FPS between 880ish to 890ish. I also only target shoot and I prefer mine to be around 890 which is what my current Royale is shooting. Maybe it's just a mental thing but I feel like the smooth twist barrels seem to be quite accurate at this speed and I feel like it's a good balance of power and shot count.

Granted, this one I have came shooting in the 860s and was very accurate there as well. Like I said, maybe it's a mental thing. If your gun is super accurate at that speed I wouldn't mess with it. Just my .02.

From what I've heard (from VERY reliable sources) 880-890fps will give the best results from a smooth twist barrel. 860 is also a great fps that (theoretically) should give a higher shot count while retaining excellent accuracy.

Mine was at 890 fps, Then I adjusted the reg to 145 bars. After that max i got was 930 fps but i brought it down to 915.

Mine was around the same as yours and we popped it up to 900 which tightened the groups on my gun a bit.

​Glad you are happy, it's a comfortable accurate bullpup for sure.

Set up the Crony again today and averaged 882 FPS over six shots. I'm not sure how I came up with 660 yesterday. I must have written it down wrong as I was checking some other guns also. I will be at a 100yrd range this weekend I'm looking forward to see how it does at 50 and 100.

I was getting real close to jumping on the BSA R10 on Amazon (it's low price was $622) but I don't think I need more than the WC.

I didn't think there would ever be another girl in the room to catch my eye like the Wildcat and I do not see it being relegated....but the Edgun leshiy sure has got me casting furtive glances and wondering how it might look riding on my truck seat!
