N/A New to PCP air rifles and looking for input on purchase

So im looking at a FX dreamlite or FX DRS in a Classic 700mm .25. i am looking to hunt ground squirrels and pigeons that have been a nascence at my ranch. i basically want a turn key rifle. i will be dealing with distances no greater then 85 yards. going with .25 cal thanks

You mention being on a ranch. Just my opinion but the fx guns are a little more on the delicate side as far as knocking them off zero. If the rifle will be used as a ranch tool and bounced around in a truck for shots of opportunity there might be some more robust options.

i will be at a distance no greater then 85 yards i would say. and not being tosssed around on my atv or anything.

My DRS in .22 Cal is amazingly accurate with 25 grain slugs.

Your decision should be based on two premises:

1.- How many shots per fill you need (DRS gives less shots per fill); and

2.- Will you shoot something bigger than squirrels and pigeons (coyotes for example) that requires a .25 Cal?

occasional coyotes would be accurate.

My DRS is giving 50 fpe out of the box, but I asked the super powerful plenum to be installed on it.

Mine is the 600 mm. It is light weight !!

The accuracy is to expect (dully rested) hitting head matches at 60 yards.

Is noise an issue? Or money? Air guns aren't cheap by the time you get everything acquired to get them to work. I noise isn't an issue then a .17hmr will take care of most of your issues. Might even do a coyote. My FX Mavericks .22(500mm) and .25 (600mm) both do 100 yards and ground squirrels well.

Noise is no issue. I would like to stay under 2k for total package.

First shot after filling or after a long period of inactivity hits low always.

from your choices it seems like you want a more traditional style rifle and not a bullpup.

Option 1 I will suggest Airgun Revisions, they can get you exactly want you need. Benjamin or Stoeger.
Option 2 I would suggest. BRKs are built for ranch duty.

I do not have a manometer in the plenum…. So I May not answer your question.
