Stoeger New to pcp, need help airing it up

Hey team, quick question. I got a stoger xm1 and am using a small 68cu 4500 psi tank with the air ventur coil. My issue is when I put the valve in and slowly turn on the tank, it's full, the guage does not move at all. I have tested and air is definitely going through the cpil.and pit the valve just not seeming to get in the gun or the guage is broken. It's brand new by the way. I shot it a few times last night as it had some air in it and the guage did go down

Hey - I am reading through your post and here's what I believe is going on.

You purchased a PCP air rifle.
You purchased an Airsoft (not airgun) 4500 psi tank. That Air Venturi coil hose, IIRC, is only rated for lower pressure air and CO2. The small tank likely has a regulator on the output valve which is limiting its output to somewhere between 300psi - 1100psi (depending on how its setup).
You will not be able to get enough air pressure out of the small tank to refill the airgun.

Assuming my thoughts are correct here, your best bet may be looking at getting a small compressor for the gun. Something like a CS2 or a Vevor would not set you back much more than $200.

Glad YOU had some thoughts about this. From OP's description I didn't understand what was going on! "when I put the valve in and slowly turn on the tank, it's full", WHAT valve? WHAT'S  full? I just couldn't picture it

Yes sorry for the confusing post. I did buy the coil and am using a 68 cu inch 4500 psi tank from a paintball gun, was told it would work but am seeing the logic behind your reply, definitely a difference between these little tanks and a full scuba tank. I spoke with stoger and they said it might be a faulty guage or internal tank...

I don't know anything about the little tank or paintball guns and their pressures. But if the tank can hold 4500 psi air it might be possible to drain it and put a different fill set on the bottle so you can extract air at the pressure you need. Or possibly just remove the regulator on the output of the fill set you have. It is not a good idea to "mess around" with unfamiliar devices that hold such high pressures so if you cannot find some specific guidance on what to do I would not attempt to modify what you have. And never try to take apart anything holding several thousand PSI air. Drain the air first.

So you say you using those small paintball tanks. Doesn't matter if they are fill to 4500 psi. They have a reg on the output only up to like 800 psi. So when you hook it up to your gun, you open the valve on the tank nothing goes in cause the 800 psi output isn't strong enough to open the one way valve on the gun. The size of the tank doesn't matter but you must get an tank for pcp airgun. Not for paintball. They do sell small pony bottle tanks that will fill your gun.

It may state on the valve what the tanks output regulator is set to.
