FX New to PCP with new FX Impact M4 5.5mm - 800mm

Hey everyone! Looks like a nice and active community here. Glad I have found it and hope to contribute in the future.
For now I'd like some advice from the experienced members to help me set up my gun properly.
So I've purchased as the title says an FX impact M4 in 5.5mm caliber with an 800mm barrel and I intend to shoot slugs with it mainly, currently testing out ZAN 28gr and fx hybrids.
No additional FX accessories were purchased for it.

What I've noticed looking at numbers written by others and how my gun came from the factory is that that regulator pressure set at 150bar looks a bit too much?
I can't speak about accuracy just yet as the gun was not zeroed properly so far and it was mainly just shooting bottles etc, planning to do that this week if weather allows.
Bottle it came with is 580cc and it last me around 60 shots with the factory tune. Does that sound right?

Loving it for the few hours I had it so far so please let me know if there's something you think I should do straight away and ammo suggestions are also welcome!

Cheers

Welcome.
I would suggest you purchase a chronograph before touching settings, so you can track your settings changes vs fps +/-.
My Panthera reg came from the factory set at 150bar.
Thanks.
I forgot to mention that part (I did buy the pocket V2).
The accessories part I was referring to is the extra stuff that can be purchased for the gun like the tungsten hammer, power kits etc.
I was getting around 970 FPS on the ZAN 28gr
It seems like you bought a $2000+ FX Impact as your first or one of your first PCPs.
Your first PCPs should be cheap and help you learn how to tune them.

I have no other comment!
What does the price have to do with it being a first purchase?
Thank you for your opinion.

As RatRacer mentioned, you will need a chronograph before you start working on tuning the gun. I suspect that you will have issues similar to mine. I own an FX Impact M3 700mm 22cal and I'm struggling to tighten my groups at 100m with JSB slugs 25.39 gr. The length of your barrel will unfortunately make things even worse. The projectile remains longer inside the barrel so even the smallest vibration will send those slugs all over the place at 100m+. You also need to start shooting paper and measure your groups.

Congratulations! Looks like the speed for the Zans is really good! How is the accuracy? You will know you have an efficient tune by how many shots you are getting. Sound report also tells one how good a tune is, a quick snappy but quiet shot shot cycle usually means a good tune (valve closing quickly). If you hear excess air then it is wasting air. Enjoy shooting that bad boy!

I can't really say much about accuracy as I had only like 2 hours with it yesterday and forgot the paper targets 45km away so zeroing the scope made no sense. Shooting random stuff was ok. I hope to deal with this as soon as there is a sunny day next week and I'll report with more info.

You need to learn how to take advantage of a $2000+ PCP.
You learn skills by practicing on cheaper air guns.

Sight it in on paper then leave all "gun adjustments alone". Shoot at least a couple hundred rounds thru it till the reg. settles in. Start with pellets to learn your gun as slugs are going to probably give you a ride for your money. Best to get patches and cleaning supplies and extra o-rings for the gun. Every gun has its "own" tune, what I'm saying is what works for one person might not work for another. Before you start turning knobs and other adjustments best to go on u-tube and watch all the vid's on your gun , how to tune and replace part's, o-rings ect. FX has a lot of vid's out. Good luck and welcome too the rabbit hole, also known as the money pit lol.

Not so much the price as the complexity, finickiness, sensitivity, # of o-rings, etc. of the gun you chose. That possibly makes for a lot of frustration of 1st time buyers/ owners getting into airguns. Like buying a formula 1 racer when you only have a learners permit. You COULD be getting in over your head (or not). Hope it's a good experience for you either way.

Congrats on your new purchase. I don't think the platform is as scary as some make it out to be. I would take pictures of your settings as it came from the factory, so you always have a starting point to go back to and take a lot of notes. Keep a log book of changes made and the results you got. With patience and a little bit of common sense I believe you should be fine.
Any videos by Matt, Earnest, AEAC or Airbuks are probably worth watching.

Congratulations on your purchase.

There's nothing wrong with going with a high end rifle as your first PCP.

Just like others members mentioned shoot the rifle and get familiarized with it so you can see where it will need the improvements. Then make decisions based on what you learn so you can make proper conclusion on the accessories you'll want to add.

Good luck and have fun with it.

These guys have amazing content for the FX Impact rifles. I have learned a lot from them. Look for their videos where they talk about ballistics for the Impact.
