New Xisico Compressor - Initial Impressions

I’ve not heard a word! I sent an email to Customer Support and the 2 emails for Larry. My friend who got one that was defective said he spoke to a Xisico Rep and Wes in Canada will be handling support and warranty claims. I have no idea what happened with FDAR. I know they were selling them for less than everyone else. Maybe Xisico dropped them because of that. I know a lot of manufacturers have strict pricing policies, FX is one of them.

I ran mine through a torture test today! Filled a couple bottle guns to 250 bar and another air gun to 300 bar. Then topped off my 90 ci Guppy Tank from 3000 to 4500psi. This was accomplished through two 15 minute sessions with a 20 minute cool down in between. The temperature got to 121F on the first session and 125F the second. Not too bad for a Willy Wonka compressor!

Back at it again. Had to step away for family business, but had time this a.m. to play around with the Xisico aka the Wonka-wonka compressor.

On the video at about 19 minutes there is an important note. One of the valves is under a brass bolt, about 19mm(?) on the bottom surface of the unit. If you can't build pressure, remove that bolt and the spring and valve pin. Mine had a healthy smear of grease left over. Quick clean and reassemble and pressure check=works perfectly!

I filled the Puncher Breaker to 3k psi and Nemesis to 3.6k psi. It is good to have a source of air!

Shoot'em good 👍

I remember seeing that. Glad that resolved the problem for you. You'd have thought they would have tested it after the conversion to ensure that had already been cleaned and it built pressure as it should!

Hey Paul, my little CS2 from Amazon is still chugging along just fine..... No problems.... If any problems happen you know everyone will be hearing about it......

LOL! Yea, same here! Is yours grease or oil? I have been told these were originally designed for oil, but the manufacturer switched to grease. I have one that was converted to oil, but I really wonder if they were originally designed for oil. There is no easy way to monitor the oil level in the crankcase, and the only way to change the oil is to syphon it out with a syringe! I was also told it's lubricated by a splash bath, but, no oil path to the upper part of the compressor and only 1.5 oz. of oil? I don't see how that's going to work long term. The instructions show where to add grease to a bearing through the opening between the two fans, but if that grease has been removed, how is that bearing getting lubricated? I'm no expert on compressors, but I find it very hard to believe these were designed to run an oil bath instead of grease... I'll be monitoring it very closely and just hope if something does fail that Xisico will take care of it!

Temperature on the patio is mid 90's. The unit had time to cool between fills as I was working tunes rather than just pumping out lead. The smaller Kral PB would fill while I was switching targets and analyzing results. I went through a large tin of Hades today setting the hammer spring to the best performance tension. A 1/4 turn on the hammer spring would go from excellent consistency to 3x the shot group size. That kind of sustainable shooting is really enjoyable knowing that I don't have to be super efficient with the air in the tank.

Spoke too soon 😥. The pump sounded like a bowling ball in the washing machine and began passing oil into the fill probe. I did some exploration/necropsy poking into the guts of the machine. Pulled the motor and pump clear out of the housing and fiddled around till I found the way to remove the piston. Here is what I found. The piston has a hard plastic ring that is broken. The piston has two slots that fit the ring, I suspect that there should be two of those in there. Not a hard R&R...just need to get the parts.

XisicoUSA told me to call FDAR.

FDAR told me to call Xisico.

And so the games begin. I will update when I get an answer.
