New Years Eve NIGHT Match, Dec 31st ( of course) Concord Ca

Looking to have real good NY Eve's experience?
How about coming out and shooting a complete Field Target match- in the dark? And starting early enough that you can get back home before the "Amateur's" start their elbow tossed driving antics?

I'll start setup around 4:00 pm while we still have a little daylight. All white faceplates (no, that's NOT racist- we end up shooting those plates) and illumination placed in front of each target .
Like Chris K. says" make sure you have fresh batteries if your scope has illumination" - Not a requirement but it helps us older fellows. If you have one of those Uber flashlights and want to add extra lumens to your lane, feel free to bring it along, but you shouldn't need it.

Electric heaters work well within the Multipurpose Range and refreshments should be available post shoot. Rain or shine- one Halloween match, we shot a night match in a minor Typhoon and had one of the best shoots ever.
No need to RSVP, we will be shooting regardless
4:00 pm- Devious course setup time
5-ish Practice
5:30 Match start, barring fog or traffic delays to the range for our more remote shooters
$10 for Diablo members,
$15 for Guests
Here's what to expect, from last year:

Squared up my plans to spend New years over in the bay area .... As such, I'm There !!
We plan on being out on the MPR doing some long distance silhouettes earlier in the day as well.

Years ago we had one venue where we raced R/C boats in the dark, glow sticks and flashlights  it was whole lot of fun !!! & expect this to be no different :p

Hey if it keeps raining out here, there is a lake on the range you could still race your motors on!!!

NYE shoot was fun. If you can shoot in daylight you can shoot in the dark with flashlights set up in front of targets, lol. Looked like about half the competitors came out just for a good time and to wish one another Happy New Year before leaving early for other planned celebrations so scores weren't posted. Weather was calm but typically nippy. This was well and good as jackets took care of the cold, there was no aiming outside of the light to account for wind drift and flash lights stayed where they were place on the ground to illuminate face plates. One year we had rain and wind. Had to put the lights in ziploc baggies to keep them dry which the wind then grabbed, sending some lights tumbling across the course and leaving targets in the dark. Have you ever tried to range and hit a target illuminated with a hand held flashlight held more OR LESS steady by a competitor? Ha ha!

Thank you again Martin O' for putting the match together and to everyone who brought food and beverages.

Awesome pictures everyone! Scott had the best dressed rifle award but the newlyweds were the cutest couple of the evening! We had a mother and daughter team ( daughter squeaked out a win on the last two lanes) a father and son shooting separately... we had a diverse group!
I stitched a bunch of videos together for a little record of the event:
