New YH Compressor.

Well, I'm glad I bought the 3 year warranty. After only 3 gentle uses, It will barely produce 1500 psi. Never got hot, treated it like a Baby, and Poof! Maybe I'm just not cut out for PCP's? LOL Any Guesses what it could Be? No strange sounds, no leaks. Scratchin my head.
A lot of people use those, probably just bad luck. At least you got the warranty. Have you been hand pumping?

I don't know how much you want to do with it considering the possible impact on a warranty claim but the one time my YH would not get to a reasonable pressure it was an O-ring near where the reed valve is. You have to take the high pressure lines off and the second stage apart to get to it. I think I got the new O-ring with the YH. It wasn't a terribly difficult repair but it you think you might want to exercise the warranty it is probably best to contact them first.

That will most likely be the choice of action. I may just have got a Lemon? Another poster said He had one, sent it back and the replacement has been going strong for a year or more.

It seems to me that only the low pressure side is working? Needless to say, I won't take a chance voiding the warranty. So Back it goes.
I think that's the best solution. Bummer though, i went thru pretty much the same thing with 2 Hill compressors. Good luck on the next one.

Chief,
Sorry to hear about the YH and it's apparent demise. Have you checked the high pressure check valve is clean? It should be easy to get to and check. Be a shame to ship it off for a little debris in the high pressure check valve. What oil are you running? Be glad to jack up a tank for you if you are close while you are waiting. I'm in SW Wa. Good luck, but I would have a look at that before shipping twenty kilos, they detail that in my ELCheapo clone "manual" and provide spares.

Thanks, but it's ok. I have two tanks full of air and that will keep me going for a bit. I am not touching it, cus they may say I ruined the Warranty.

I have 3 yong heng compressors. Well two currently and one that will arrive in a few days. One that I use and two will still be new in their original package (impulse purchase lol). Anyway I have found that if pressure is not building at least in my situation it was always a leak in the system somewhere. It is very easy to miss a leak while running, and when you use a deadhead, it could still be leaking but the one way valve that's built into them will prevent you from seeing a few other places where it could leak. I have found leaks at the bonded washer coming from the top where the high pressure starts, also found leaks at the high pressure where the tubes connect to the piston assembly, leaks also found around the pressure gauge, another very annoying leak that i have found is at the burst disk. There is a small washer that presses against the burst disk that is supposed to hold pressure. What i have seen is that that washer can develop hairline cracks almost invisible to the naked eye and that will cause a leak. Looking at the burst disk being intact you will think thats not the issue and it may not be, because its the small washer in between the burst disk and the screw holding it in place. Every single time for me anyway when it seemed that it was not building pressure or seemed very slow it was always a leak somewhere and it was not actually worn out.

Well, since it has less than an hour on it, I will just send it back and try another. But thanks for the Tips!
