Newbie mistakes so far with the Crosman 2300S

I've been a Crosman 2300S owner for a couple of weeks and this is my first co2 gun and I'm in the process of learning. Today I cleaned and oiled my pistol after shooting 100 rounds on Thursday, I was just plinking to get familiar with the gun. So far I've learned that my gun doesn't like Daisy pointed pellets and RWS Diabolo Basic wadcutters, these pellets will not go into the barrel without forcing them and the deform easily while loading. I also tried Crosman Premier Pointed pellets and these load easily into the gun. Next week I'm going to try Crosman Premier Piranha which seem to load easily too. My first mistake was with my first co2, I couldn't get it in far enough using my fingers so I used a quarter and may have over tightened the end cap because it was so tight I had to use pliers to get it off. Today I loaded a co2 but didn't plan to pierce it. I sanded a burr off of the threads of the end cap and the end cap screws in easily now. I didn't think the co2 was pierced and I unscrew the end cap to remove the co2 and the co2 went off, I'm hoping I didn't damage the gun. I'm also having a problem with the Williams sights, they are mounted to the gun but canted to the right a few degrees, I've removed and reattached the sights several times and I cannot get them on straight. Next week I want to dial the gun in at 10 meters and hoping I can figure out how to get them on straight. I'd greatly appreciate your comments.
 
Pirhana pellets don't shoot well.

Stick with the Crosman wadcutters and pointed pellets (7.4gr specifically and NOT the 7.9gr super points that suck)

Crosman Premier Hollowpoints and JSB 7.33gr and Falcon and RWS 6.9gr Super-H should do good too.

Daisy wadcutters may be worth trying for cheap.

All other pellets you are on your own.

Contact Crosman about the Williams rear sight that came with the pistol it may be bent or not machined properly.

Put a drop of Pellgun oil or Alphabet org on the co2 b4 piercing.

Screw co2 finger tight then fire one shot then back off unscrew maybe 1/4 turn fire another shot then you are ready to shoot.

Some co2 rigs ( esp. as you move yup in price) are worth reading quickly. The above is correct about 1st shot piercing the cart. Some Co2 you screw all the way in then back out 1/4, older push button, target bulk, crosman bulk, all just different.

From Crosman manual

Insert the new CO2 cartridge into the air pistol with the small neck of the CO2 cartridge into the action tube first (fig. 6).• Replace the filler cap assembly in the action tube. Screw the filler cap completely into place until finger tight only.• Cock the bolt by pushing the bolt handle up and pulling it all the way back until you hear two clicks. Close the bolt and push the bolt handle down to lock. • Point the air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION, take “OFF SAFE” (See Section 2B) and pull the trigger.• Cock the bolt again, point the air pistol in a SAFE DIRECTION, take “OFF SAFE” (See Section 2B) and pull the trigger• If the air pistol does not make a popping noise after pulling the trigger, the CO2 is not being discharged. In that event, tighten the filler cap slightly and repeat cocking the bolt and firing the air pistol until there is a popping noise, which will mean the air pistol is releasing CO2 with each pull of the trigger.
