Newbie needing advice

I just got my Chinese compressor, and I’m now looking into getting a scba tank that I’ll be able to have filled from a few firemen coworkers. Can anyone direct me to exactly the fittings, gauges, etc etc that I will require to make things run smoothly ? I would certainly be grateful. Cheers.

+1 on the scba fill system.
ive been using one just like that for years.

if you get an scba your fireman friend can fill it with no adapters needed.

scba's have a cga347 or firehouse thread.

now if the tank you buy has a din thread youll need a din to cga347 adapter.

If you get a standard SCBA tank that has a threaded outlet (NOT the quick connect) you'll need a CGA347 tank fill adapter. On Ebay they're around $50. Get a "hand tight" one so you don't need a wrench to tighten.

whats the best compressor to get if you want to fill your own tank? Also there are carbon fiber bottles that are out of date for cert but they are about 98 on ebay for the 60 minute bottles (the bigger ones) Also whats the compressor pictured above and whats the price ? thank you..

oh best of both worlds , tank and compressor. If i read you right you will get the tank filled at the station and use the compressor for your gun only ?

Correct. That’s kind of what I’m thinking anyways. Or possibly use compressor to top off tank ?

Do some research on this forum about the ability of the compressor above in topping off tanks. I'm only familiar with Yong Hengs. Topping tanks is no problem with those. I don't know about the one shown. Personally, I'm leery of non-water cooled compressors doing heavy tank work.

I guess I wasn’t clear when I said Chinese compressor lol. I had the Yong Heng delivered last week after reading an absurd amount of people recommend it as a matter of fact.

Thanks for the Ebay hose settup ... whats the compressor pictured?.. and is that the 30 min Tank?.. I was thinking of maing a sled for one when I decide on the right one.. if its the same as yours I might help hook you up too.. Let me know your thoughts on these.. One smaller bottle or a couple or one larger 60 min bottles.. ?
