Just join the dark side and get a pcp! Come on your kids don't really need braces.... They can go to community College you can dip into that slush fund. Get a raw hm1000x and a day state compressor. You should really spend about 4000 bucks if you want those squirrels to stay dead.

You fellows got me hooked for sure And ctshooter is correct I lost his bet to you and am currently 7 times a looser to the just 1 challenge haha.

I admit it - I want to try every airgun out there. Find a way to try before you buy when this is a mostly mail order business. It happens pretty commonly that I'll try a hyped up gun and I just won't care for it. But I'll try some niche obscure gun and it'll be a real winner. Examples: PROD - what a money pit, but I guess it's nearly everyone's first buy. FX Ranchero Carbine - I liked how it looked, now it's the most accurate thing I own within 30-35 yards. Edgun Matador - ehh it just didn't fit me right. Edgun Leshiy - love everything about it. 

So now that we've enabled the OP to buy a $2000 Impact X, a $1,000 scope, a $800 SCBA fill tank setup, and $2500 compressor I think he'll be ready for the next squirrel because if he doesn't shoot it he might not be able to afford to eat.

OP - if you can track down a PP750 in .177 I think you would be very happy with it's abilities. 13-14fpe in .177. 10.34gr @ 700fps.

I'm killing squirrels (same overrun problem you have) with two cheaper pellet rifles (Gamo Swarm Maxxim, just under 200; and a Crosman Venon Dusk, 150), along with three Weihrauchs. I shoot my German made guns more often; but, the Crosman and Gamo get the job done, too. OTOH, my Weihrauch shoots every pellet I put in it, but the Gamo and Crosman just won't--they are terribly pellet picky. I shoot over 3,000 pellets figuring out the cheaper guns; the better ones just shot well from the start.



So, get whatever you can afford! I do recommend lower FPS capable rifles--700-950 range for a .177 because these medium-high fps shooters are easier to control when shooting. The higher the fps, the more work it becomes to "tame" the magnum beast. BTW, one of rifles only shoots about 640 fps and I'm killing squirrels out to 28 yards (killed 158 over the last 17 months). 



Quality pellets (JSB, H&N, RWS) make a huge difference, as does the domed vs wadcutter vs. pointed shapes.

Nah man - don't ever feel springers are under pcps. They're just different and require more time and practice to shoot well. PCPs are so easy to shoot most anyone can do it pretty well. I'll give more credit to a precision springer shooter any day over a pcp shooter.

Awe common now lol, If you are seeing yourself in that position then you have chosen to place yourself there. You recommended your personal preference the same as the others have done no difference there lol. You are often very helpful and kind willing to help others and share what you have learned along the way and I am thankful for that very much. Lets not lump most together as a whole in a negative view as we are all air gunners from co2 , springers and pcp's as well as some sling shot guys haha. Most of the post I believe were in jest if I took them correctly.  As we all have different taste and budgets . I hope that you are not discouraged at all by what you view as most choosing something different from you. This is what makes the forums so great here is the variety and the different flavors available.

I see you as an asset to the community and hope you continue to contribute and enjoy. Please do not project a separation of all us airgunners but unite us as a whole family of interesting and variable choices for all to enjoy with something for everyone. 

I mean absolutely no offense what so ever and just wanted you to know that there are people here that notice and appreciate your efforts to further our shared hobby. Lets stay together as a family of friends and acquaintances of a very enjoyable and a fun hobby as a whole. The airgun community where it is ok to be yourself and sometimes a lil unique or diversified is OK and accepted . haha

I thank you very much for the help and input the variety is great I just feel the positive postings to the newer members are crucial and an encouragement to the new guys that share an interest in the hobby that makes us a community with choices and options available for all. I hope that it is obvious I am long winded but have good intentions and very little speaking gifts haha. I just prefer positive and encouraging open mindedness as a healthy and beneficial thing for all of us as a community.

Of course you are free to chose your own path. I wish you the best and hope you continue to share your experiences with us all as I enjoy them myself. . No argument here or intended. I was just hoping to encourage is all.
