Newer Avengers

Pretty sure I have one of the earlier ones...doesn’t have the threaded connection for the shroud collar next to the receiver. It needed a similar amount of elevation compensation as most PCPs that I’ve worked on, but generally speaking I have no qualms about shimming the rear mount on a PCP. The lack of recoil means no need to crank down hard on the ring caps, in other words no risk of damaging the scope.

I didn't have a low POI but I found another use for an additional barrel band.
I noticed the air tube and barrel flexed if you grab them together so I added a Black Arts barrel band designed for the Bullpup and put it out near the fill port. Once I got the band in place and tightened properly it made the rifle much more stable.
BTW - Black Arts is a nice piece, so nice I might replace the original barrel band too

I have a recent .22 Bullpup and no issues on POI out of the box. Mounted a BSA scope and it shoots one hole groups at 25 yards with JSB 18s. 895 fps. Reg at 1900 and hammer spring in 2.5 turns. Mine has the air stripper but no barrel band.
This is similar to where I wanna be in tuning with the bullpup I got coming in on Friday. I wouldn't mind a slightly lower speed on the 18's too. I heard they love the 850 range. I'm guessing that would require another half turn out on the hammer spring.

Can update now. Mine did have aweful factory scope rails and I had to upgrade to the Saber Tactical. Now the scope is straight as an arrow and my Avenger zero'd wonderfully.
I'm not understanding how the rails can make the difference. If the planes of the receiver were off, the rails would be off. So swapping out the rails would still be off on the planes/angles right?

Well the factory rails are cast, and not very well. They were very crooked and the ST version is pretty straight. They are located on the cast receiver bosses which are partially machined. None of it is done very precise, wish they used the older receiver designs instead of this cheap casting.

I just got the AV Avenger 25 caliber long rifle I've been upgrading to get it to shoot straight after starting upgrades. I've not been able to sight in my older sniper brand scope after the Doux bottle mod upgrade with an AE Swede extended bottle barrel band to lock it all in. I've got the Saber Tactical rails being delivered tomorrow to see if that helps and a new Westhunter optic as I think I have roughed up the old scope beyond it's range of travel. I've replaced the rear shroud barrel bushing with the AE Swede CNC machined aluminum version so everything is locked in tight. And the Donnyfl barrel adapter with Tatsu attatched. I sure hope it all sights in when I get these upgrades installed. It's raining here in Missouri so it'll be Saturday before I can sight in as it's supposed to stop raining and be in the 50s outside. I never had any of these problems on the Bullpup version. It's always shot laser perfect.
