Dipping my toe into this thread area😅
Just wanted to hear suggestions on speeds/setups for pushing a .177 10.3gr diabolo over 100 yards accurately.
It's not my first rodeo with projectiles at a good distance. However it will be with using a pellet😅
I can read the wind, measure temperature, etc. in the area I will be attempting. Just nervous of the first attempt I suppose.
*I am always trying to do something new/ I never tried before🤷‍♂️
Currently running Walther Rotek .177
Any and all advice/wisdom greatly appreciated 🥴🤙

Accurately? At 100 yards? What would your criteria be? Minute of soup can, MOA, etc. If just plinking? Fire away, but if you’re expecting consistent accuracy with those .177, 10.3 gr pellets with any kind of wind. Good luck! Why not shoot your gun for maximal accuracy at shorter ranges? Sub 60 yards for example. For instance, I have setups at 25, 30, 40, 50, 64 and 102 yards. But the bulk of my shooting is sub 50 yards. I do love to lob them out their artillery style, but just for fun. Getting into airguns to chase long range, accurate or precise shooting is a very specialized, specific endeavor.

True I should have been more descriptive 🤔 my moa at 100 yards would totally be soup can🤣 I'm not trying to split a card at 1000 yards kind of accuracy. I'm just wondering if those 10.3s would be consistent or if at that distance switch to a slug of similar weight; I know POI may shift a little though.

I’ve tried 10.3 pellets at 100 yards, I think any shots land within 4 inch circles is a success if there is any sort of wind. 6-8 inch groups or better with a bit of wind reading is definitely doable. I had a gust of wind pushed the pellet 2 feet but my attempt was at 11.5 fpe or 715FPS on a very windy day though. If shooting at 910-920fps the groups should shrink by an inch or two.

I've shot 10.3s out to 100 yards on more than a few occasions, using a 20fpe field target gun. So around 915-920fps. It can MOSTLY keep them within 2-3 inches, even with some moderate wind. Much better groups than that is going to require absolute dead calm.

I've even shot some EBR cards at 100yards for fun, with the same rig, from field target position. Most cards were in the 190-210 range. That's from a pretty expensive gun/scope, using an exceptional barrel and a batch of pellets that it agrees with. Ie, all the potential kinks worked out/firing on all cylinders.

Realistic expectations from 10.3s at 100 yards are probably groups more like 3-5inches.

A nice 100y bull i like is a crosman tin painted black on a white cboard/ backing. Its 3" so any all in is good for general shots.. the 2-1/2" snuff can i like at 75. I dont scope just factory irons and ot works well for my eyes.

Anyway you get a cheap clear distinct aim at point.

Like said above common .177 weight and wind dont get along. Maybe a prefered slug could be better ?

I shoot the cphp .177 75-100 y but got yo ne a nice day for nice result. On irons. So it's well doable. Just too much energy loss a wiff of wind pushes them easy past 65y
