Night Hunting scope mounted light effectiveness

Good deal. Which type of hunting light setup did you settle on?

I went with a $34 (1000L) green LED with picatinny mount, using the scope mount JimNM shows above on a Hawke scope with illuminated reticle.

I have a similar mount, the Alonefire from Amazon.

I’m looking to get the same sort of set up, and I’m just curious - anyone who’s had this set up, have there been any issues with the weight and/or it’s distribution to where it’ll tweak your zero?

@JustindianaJones Nope. Concerning the weight I barely notice it’s there. No issues with scope’s zero.

On another note - anyone ever try to get a red headlamp of some sort to line up with the FOV? I’ll probably be within the 30-50yard range

A headlamp is going to be cocked oddly on your forehead to get the light close to the scope FOV. Once set up, a gun mounted light is always pointing in the right direction.
