Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 F2

I have eyed the NX8 for over a year now. I have handled a couple and finally ordered one this morning. I am excited to get it. I plan to put it on my Taipan I have went back and forth about putting it either on my Wolverine or Taipan. I think I will try it on the Taipan standard 22 as it has a little more reliable range. I will let you all know what I think after I shoot it awhile.

I just ordered the F1 (FFP) version today too. $2150 from Amazon! I'm excited to get it. I have a few other decent scopes but nothing this nice.

The NX8 really checks all the boxes for me with the short 11y min focus. 

Can I ask why you went with the second focal plane version?

The FFP is a popular scope now days but. I like to see the same sight picture on each power. For my use I can’t use the lower powers because the reticle is almost useless unless you are shooting at something big. For me a 4-32 becomes a 10-32 in a FFP In a barn type setting at low light I use the minimum power setting. I rarely use the top magnification. If I am shooting targets I prefer to dial and use the crosshair, center is always center. I personally shoot better using the center, maybe its one less thing to concentrate on. Thats my reasons, I know FFP is popular. I really liked the Athlon Ares scopes but they only make a FFP.

Great choices in scopes for sure, no matter the focal plane. The design team at Nightforce definitely got all of the features packed into this little scope.

NF should have given an option for a fully illuminated ret in the 2nd FP version, the centre dot illumination only is not my favorite, I have both rets in the 2nd FP versions and all the FFP versions.

With a fully illuminated ret the overall size doesn't matter at low power in FFP if you use centre aiming, my choice would have been the plain MOA ret in SFP but it only comes in FFP currently.

It's a great scope anyways.

I have the FFP version on my fax impact and the size and weight fit the gun well. You should enjoy spending time behind this scope.

Well you taught me something. I looked Thru a couple 1FFP and do like the reticle design and the LED I looked thru a 2nd FFP 2.5-20 I thought the LED was broken the dealer did also. I thought I investigated these, I guess I didn’t. I still would have chosen the same, but am surprised
