Nikko Sterling Diamond Scope 10-50x60 Mil Dot

I have a 10-50x60 Nikko Target Master which it s basically the same and use it in HFT competition. It ranges great to around 46 yds then it is so short a throw back and forth rangeing with my 6" wheel, it all seems the same from there to 55 yds.

I marked my wheel to allow but it still is tough in the shadows of the woods. In the open field shots it is not so much of a problem. Shooting in hunter and restricted to 12 magnafication, it is tough with any decent scope at 55 yds IMHO. Now ranging on 30, 40 mag it does fine but you need to jump to open division or WFTF with 12fpe.....hope this helps...

I currently use a Hawke 3-12x 50mm. Not bad for HFT but it suffers the resolution at the farther distances like most. Seems like the Nikko works great at higher mags but not well at 10 or 12x for these distances.

The Sightron looks promising but I don't have $1325 to lay out and find it doesn't do better with my eyes than my current scope. I need to find someone locally and see for myself before I could commit to buying one.

I have looked through many of my club members scopes at matches and they all cloud up at high mag.

For HFT at 12 mag, clarity is not an issue but focus/ranging is. I try to get a real far target focused/ranged by going past where it comes clear until out of focus again. Then I bring it back in until just barely in focus or slightly out. This way I know I am working on the farthest distance I have marked. I usually get it if thevwind does not hinder me.
