No more gamo for me

Been airgunning for over 50 years, my first gamo was a 177 cal whisper around 10 years ago, I was at 9000 feet in the mountains when the spring broke. I chalked it up to lack of air at elevation causing spring slamming, next one was a 177 with a nitro piston. 3rd was the gamo swarm. The swarm after about 1000 rounds started shooting low so I sent it in and 3 weeks later I get the gun back with a paper stating the "velocities" as if it was ok, all around 900 fps. The gun STILL shot bad so I took it apart and found this....

Of course they wont sell me one and I AINT sending it off for another 3 weeks, I got one from Australia and wow, I am still trying to get it on! With that said why in the world would I want a PITA gun, 2 out of 3 I have bought are garbage. I loved the accuracy, until I didn't.

Custom Air Seals out of Australia makes piston seals for your gun. You can get them on eBay.

I had a BSA Meteor Super with a bad piston seal from the factory. I looked at it and thought, damn that looks an awful lot like a 25mm TX200 seal. I had one on the shelf from Vortek to test and sure enough it was a perfect fit

I got one from them in the mail yesterday, now I have to figure out how to get it on. Its larger and harder than the one I replaced on my RWS 350. Tried boiling and hair dryer to heat it up to soften it, still hard as a rock. Gonna buy a heat gun and see how that works.

first off Gamo's game of not selling internal part and their stead fast you have to send it in i just go to the UK for parts even Spain
the seal looks burnt from dieseling ????
now the seal install you are going to have to make a tamper piece to slide the seal down and stretch it open and go on the piston
a clamp the tapered piece and a socket are needed it is the same thing we do on Diana pistol seals

Yeah, I think the gun had gunk in it, I noticed it started "dieseling" every single shot after over 500 rounds. I have no clue where the gunk came from. Every shot started to produce a puff of smoke and burnt oil smell and went downhill fast after that. I have cleaned it all out and it was blackened everywhere internally. Like I said, no more gamo's for me. Did I get a lemon from the factory that they didn't clean up well before they put it together? Who knows.

I’m 1 for 1 with gamo. My Gamo magnum swarm gen3i clipped pellets using three different magazines until I removed the autofeed mechanism. It shoots alright now, but I paid for a multi shot and got a single shot. No more gamos for me either.
I will admit they are darn accurate, that's the one I just replaced the seal on (gen3i swarm magnum .22). Shooting pop bottle caps at 40 yards is fun BUT been waiting for the problem you have to show up also as I have seen more than one complaint of that online.

I’ve experienced similar with Hatsan. But I’ve had a couple of good ones as well. Plus I don’t mind tinkering. I hadn’t ever bought a Gamo in my life. Pretty much lumped them in as a cheap chain store gun. And the sell a lot of them that way.
But I stumbled across the Gamo Magnum.25 on YouTube. The more videos I seen. The more I had to have one.
Then I found a sale with free shipping and 10% off. So for slightly under 180.00 to my door. I couldn’t resist.
I’ve been impressed with its quality, accuracy and the way it handles. Just feels good shouldered up.
Later I got yet another email from Gamo with some sale going on. And seen the wood stock of the Gamo Hunter .22
I love that one! Not only beautiful. But it shoots great.

Meanwhile the next one I really wanted. Was the Gamo Magnum in .22 cal. But I didn’t want it bad enough at regular sale price. The wife’s looks weren’t worth that lol.
But the finally offered me a deal I couldn’t say no too. It will be here Thursday 😂😂
Hope it’s a good one.
I have a few PCPs as well. But the GK1 quenched that thirst.

Have a good evening.

Thanks for all the help from everyone here, my gun is assembled and shoots straight as an arrow and consistent again!
Good to hear that it is solved now. Enjoy it.

I have one of the older single shot Game Magnum rifles in 5.5mm with gas piston with more than 15,000 shots through it. With no work done on it, it still shoots with the same power and accuracy as when it was new. The pellets I shot with it cost me more than the rifle itself. If it ever breaks and I cannot repair it, I will buy a new one immediately.

My gamo seal looks close to the ops with a chunk out ..lol

Still shoots great with that and maintaining 780 fps ..

Its funny not even custom air seals offers the gamo 33mm deal on any USA market site like there Amazon or eBay . You have to buy it direct from them or a e.u. Place that offers it .

Makes me think of they did offer it like USA Amazon or something USA gamo must stop or sue them cause why sell it everywhere but here ? Hmm...

Just shot the other day gamo on it's "stock irons" 50 y with cphp 22 and it's going on 7 years old

irons, gamo, cphp, 50y (2).jpg

Now who says you can't shoot good out of Walmart ?
