Any Nomad II owners using a "stand alone" deep cycle battery to power their unit instead of hooking up to a running vehicle battery? Just wondering; what ah rating is being used and if there is any possibility of damage to the Nomad.

I don’t think it’s a problem as long as the deep cycle battery is sufficiently charged and able to produce the 20 to 26 amps required. I did confirm with A/V that the readout is in amps dc.

I have the Hatsan spark tac. and i use a deep cycle to run it, I haven't had to charge the battery since I set it up and Ive charges an impact a dozen times, probably Moar

When I flew large electric r/c helicopters, I used to run my high-current battery chargers from a deep cylce marine battery when in the field. The chargers would output 24A for 6 minutes no problem.
I noticed voltage drop after a few charges in the field, which lengthened charge time. For this reason I decided against using a deep-cycle for the Nomad II. It would be more convenient to not have to open the hood that's for sure, but I'll stick with what I'm doing for now.
