I was what I thought lucky enough to come across an estate sale, actually I was and grateful for everything I got for the price I did. Within this sale that had been purchased in 2018 was a Nomad II compressor.
The elderly man who passed away, and who owned all this PCP equipment prior to me buying it from his widow, owned everything for literally 2 weeks before passing..
So last week I watched videos and read everything I could about these little compressors, added 3 drops of Super Lube silicon oil then topped up my Impact with zero issues, then shut it off, drained what little moisture was in it and stored it bsck in its nice canvas storage bag.
Last night i thought I’d top up my .25 Crown to go plinking starlings this morning early. I plugged compressor into the house 120V, cracked the air relief valve to allow the compressor to start running without any load on it, everything looking and sounding good, check check check, I tjen close the pressure relief thumb wheel and it pumped for about I’d say 3-5 seconds, then I thought I tripped the house 15amp breaker because the entire thing poop down. No breaker wasn’t tripped so o check the 30amp fuse, no it’s not blown.. what the... unplugged then plugged back in and cooling fan comes on but it’s beeping and throwing an L code and from the little bit of info I could find indicates it possibly means a possible issue with the low power circuit (12V side ?? )
A forum member here mentioned many mixed reviews on these compressors and had I known it would S*** the bed this fast, o would’ve dumped it as soon as I got it and bought a Yong Heng. I just bought a brand new 60 minute CF air Venturi and thought how slick it would be to have the capability to top up my rifle bottles having a little compressor to save the big tanks air while afield, but hmmm this doesn’t leave me feeling too warm and fuzzy especially with this Nomad as close to new as it is.
Any ideas other than a small bonfire or maybe shooting the middle of the O in Nomad. I’m up here in Canada and sending this across the border to have repaired well that’s nothing but a huge hassle I’m sure.
