Norma .177 8.4 gr Golden Trophy FT

I was doing some testing today. I usually grab odd stuff and fire about 10 to 20 rounds to warm up me and my TX200 MKIII in .177. I was shooting at 50 feet (16.6 yards/ 15.2 meters).

I had a tin of the Norma Golden Trophy 8.4 grains in the bag as they shoot well in my Beaman P17 at 10 meters and 50-feet. I decided to warm up with them before moving to my weight sorted and lubed serious stuff.

While the POI was not near my usual (10.4 gr) they got my attention. So I did six groups of 5 shots. No sorting just straight from the tin.

A couple of .20" (5.1mm) ctc groups and overall decent groups for me at that range with raw ammo.

Those Norma pellets are scary accurate out of a few of my guns. Its ashame they jacked up the prices on them

I used them when i was able to get them here local. Did fine for me as well for a gap fill when cphp was short.

The sig Sauer venom .177 when i use to get them were a tad better over all . Give them a try if you can ( more pellets per tin as well)..

Now sadly there all mail-order only for me..

My mainstays are AA Field Heavy 10.3 in the rifle and AA Field 8.4 in my pistol and rifle. This was today with the same rifle after dialing it in.

Thought i had compare pictures of the 3 ( cphp,sig,normas) but guess i deleted them .. seems i always need somthing after i throw it away..lol

I have some of those. They are lovely! someone sent me them....I forget who now. But I saved some bc they shoot so good I save the good ones for when I KNOW I'm going to go hunting and not just targets. Norma pellets

Got a tin given today free with new rifle never tried them before so will be interesting to see if they group well sounds like they ain't a bad pellet truth will be on the testing View attachment 20230310_194922.jpg

Yes sir, pretty good pellets from what I've seen. The whole of the Norma lineup I've tried has grouped better than expected for the price. Some examples:

I weight sorted a tin of 300 to the nearest 0.1 grain and they fell into 2 bins (save 8 pellets) at 8.3 and 8.4 grains. So they are very consistent.

Similar to my experience with the 15.9s although I did have a third, smaller tin leftover labeled "plinking ammo"

I read online that these are part of the RWS family like the .22 rimfire. I don't know if it is true.

Also notice the tin picture from norma clearly shows made in germany where yours dont.. i kinda suspect outsourcing.. but you see you got good stuff regardless german made or not.

It could be, I don't know. I know the Tac22 has the RWS case for sure. The Norma pellets weights also seem to parallel the RWS weights.
