Norma pellets

I didn't want to post anything in the recent AoA thread as it may have looked like I was trying to disparage or displace their business efforts.

In truth, the best way to get great deals on Norma pellets is to sign up for their email at normashooting.com About two months ago I bought about 2K pellets at 3.99/200 tin with free shipping. They don't pack especially well, so it pays to order the ones in blister packs, they are carded for retail sale so harder to mash and bounce around, and they can't come open. They offer several varieties of .177 and .22, but nothing bigger.

I ordered them to give them a try, but I have no range report at this time. They are shiny and pretty. :) I assume every pellets ability to shoot well in a gun is up to the gun, but consistency is important.

I sampled 6 different ones and they were all above average. Both weights of domes in each caliber, and the wadcutter in each caliber. On a par with good batches of H&N or RWS, making them an excellent value when they are on sale.

A couple of examples:

I have also ordered 10 tins of 200 of the wadcutter in 22. They arrived in a sleeve very nicely packaged (no damage whatsoever). From what i could tell and from comparing them to a tin of 22, they are the exact pellets as but in different size tins. They are the same weight, size, shape and looks.

@mobilemail thank for pointing that out. I knew I seen them for that price but couldn’t remember where. I actually found some at a local gun store. 8.4g Golden Trophy FT. I did pay more but wanted to try before I ordered a bunch. I only have pistols in .177 They did group well at 8 yards. I’d not hesitate to stock up on them for the sub 5$ Wish I’d stocked up now.

I can vouch for what you are saying. I grabbed a tin of .22 RWS Meisterkugelns off the shelf and the Norma wadcutters are indistinguishably identical to within my ability to discern with a 5x loupe, calipers, and micrometer. Head and skirt geometry, the stepped skirt interior, overall length, etc. They both also have slightly undersized heads at 5.47 - 5.49mm but group well from multiple barrels.

The .177 Norma wadcutters are also very similar to the RWS Meisters I have on hand. Just a very slight difference in the forward-most facet of the head profile.

No surprise, I suppose since all are made by RUAG Ammotec Gmbh.
