Umarex notos accuracy issues

The Notos has a 1:20 barrel twist. The gun is very anemic but that twist rate is perfect for pellets. When shooting at 50 yds I get quarter sized holes using SORTED CPHP's and hole in hole using JTS Dead Centers in 18.1 gn. I'd clean the barrel and try again.

Get some better pellets, H/N, JSB, JTS or FX... Most times Crosmans arent long range pellets, some guns will shoot good at distance but most dont. My Notos shoots the 18.1 gr JSB great at 50-60 yds.

How fast is it shooting the 18 gr? I’ve been shooting 14 gr Jsb and at 40 yards my group starts to open up a lot.

My Notos loves Norma 17.6 grain. Significantly better than Crosman, H&N, JSB, FX, JTS (of varying grain weights).
Also second (or third, or whatever) using Ballistol or some other cleaning agent on your cotton pull patches.

Notos is capable of quarter sized groups at 50 yards out of the box.

My files for my chrony on my phone got messed up and had to delete them but if I remember it was shooting them around 670 fps and 18ftlb..might have been a bit slower but not much.

I honestly did not know there were more than one version/generation of the Notos. I had two, the second one bought a while after the first. I must say, they were both astonishingly accurate, but I never went more than 50 yds or so. I just didn't have a good calm day for longer distances. I have no idea which generation either one was, but they looked the same. At least I didn't notice any difference in screws etc. I loved them and am having mild seller's remorse, but my DreamTac Compact cures that.
That is one of my worries with UX is that IF you do have a problem, they're not real interested in helping short of "send it in", which to me is not a good answer.

Umarex does do service....they took over service for RWS. I, stupidly, sent a pristine 6m (Giss system) in for RnR. They used channel locks on opening the gear train covers. Hopefully they have hired someone that knows something in the years since.
