N/A Notos Huben regulator/valve o'rings

I have tried to place the 2 o'rings (ID: 6mm, CS: 1.5mm) into the grooves in the screw hole.
I could not figure out how to do it.

How did you place the 2 o'rings in the grooves in the screw hole?

Stupid question first: did you remove the old ones?

Inserting o-rings takes practice and patience. One wrong move and they are junk. One scratch with a pick and it's a forever leak.

I have two very narrow tipped, blunt suture hemostats (tweezers) that I use to fold the oring and get the leading edge into the groove. Then I use a brass rod I made to push the free end into the groove.

I still take a while to get them seated, sometimes it's a few tries but go slow and be patient.

The old ones were blown out long ago :)

I can see the groove only with a magnifying glass.
Now I need 3 hands, 2 for the instruments and one for the magnifying glass :)

I will try your approach.
So you need to fold the orng to get them in there?

I assume that you start with the o'ring that is deeper.
Putting them in the hole folds them, the edge of the oring then gets pushed into the groove then the remaining part gets pushed into the groove.

I start with the top groove, fill that one then move down.

It works best for me.

3 hours later I finally have those 2 o'rings placed in their grooves.

I wasted 1 hour until I realized that the old o'rings were still in there and taking them out.

Then spent another hour trying to get them in with just tweezers and whatever else I could think of.
The main problem was that I needed to use: flashlight, magnifying glass, tweezers and something to push them down (tried toothpicks and small screwdrivers).

Finally I figured out that I need to make the o'rings stop at the right depth.
In the screw hole, I placed M3 screws wuth their head up so that the o'rings will not get past them.
I used 2 different screw lengths, one for each groove.

After the last idea I could install the o'rings in 10 minutes.
