Umarex Notos...my notos can't group heavier slugs

Has anyone experienced very inconsistent groups with heavier slugs? I've tried about 10 different pellets and 5 different slugs and best I've found for mine is the 13.43gn JSB's.

Everything else groups like poop.

I don't mind shooting the 13.43's but would be nice for some heavier options. Thought it had something to do with the feeding, seems to be rough loading anything but the 13.43gn but tried single loading and no different.

Any thoughts? Stressing me the f*&% out

These pics are from only 20 yards and the circles are 1/2" ...so I don't understand how they can be so bad at only 20 yards.. I've taken quail twice at 50+ yards with the 13.43gn but even at 35yards anything heavier than the 13.43gn the groups are horrendous.

These are the speeds I'm shooting at, didn't chrono the 15.89 though

Over the holiday I tested some heavier .22 (.2195) Varmint Knockers 28,28.5, and 32.8gr slugs through the stock notos barrel. The VK. 28 one holed a 5 shot group at 35y, the 28.5 did a tight clover leaf. I'll take some pictures this afternoon. But this has led me to order some 20-25gr slugs. MV:630~ is. A little too slow for me, but 700-740 is doable. 17gr is a bit light for the wind conditions In the winter here and the BC is in the .063/.066 neighborhood. The 23gr is in the .090's even with a muzzle velocity of 700 it's still moving near 615fps at 100yds. 19fpe at 100 is plenty.

Also, JTS 18.1gr pellets. 250ct.
10.99 for the JTS pellets from Amazon, free shipping with prime. I've yet to receive a single damaged pellet. The blister packed pellets don't seem to suffer the fate that HN and JSB tins do in Amazon shipping.

10.99 without the extra 8-15 in shipping is a welcome deal.

thanks for the info

Tried NSA .217 and .2165 they were ok, not as good of groups as the 13.43gn pellets
28.5gr .2195 Varmint Knockers 10shots ±630

28gr Varmint knockers .2195 5 shots ±643

(.218) NSA 17.5gr 5 shots ±781

AOA is the only place I can find the .2175/218 NSA 17.5

Then send them back to Nelson!!!

These are swagged slugs, they all should be 100% the same OD.
Going to be using the stock barrel for a week or two so maybe I should. The griffins do not play well with the stock barrel. Waiting on the 5/8"x.083x23" DOM to get in as well as an m12x1 tap, 1/2x20unf tap. Wondering if the 600 is going to droop or not. Excited to see what gains it offers over the 380

Good news. STX and The 1:18 heavy now in hand. The addition of the cricket drop block reg, the extended plenum, a folding stock and I'm calling it done. I'd like to hit 31-33fpe. We'll see what happens. Can always sacrifice a few shots for higher reg pressure.

Porting done as well?
Did you use .625x065. .495 ID or the .083 .459 ID ? I can't find any .444 or .439 with .625 OD. I know the .5-20unf is OD is .500 ±.003 and the id is .455±. Is it better to remove materiel and have a snug fit or is the 10th of a mil not enough to effect the concentricity of the liner lock nut?
Edit:
NVM.. the threads are what matter. Disregard 'tarded question..

I bought my kit from C88machining, easier and faster.

Wasn't aware he made a 700mm

I don't feel like paying another 130. I can get the 23" of tube for 15.90 and both taps for 25. Re using the breech and liner lock muzzle nut, which I have 2 sets of, and are the only components that requires machine precision.

If I choose to get the 22x20x570mm carbon sleeve I still save $60. I've only seen 380 and 500 offered.

I may have the only 700mm kit from him.

What kind of velocity are you getting with 15.89 and 18.1's from that thing?

Edit: I wish someone would manufacturer longer versions of the OEM barrels. Also a nice 1:1 replacement for the bolt and cocking arm. A nice fx style side lever would make for such a nicer experience to operate.

1200fps, wide open with the 15gr pellets and 1050fps with 18.1gr pellets.

Price: Nobody will make them for me due to price. Look up LW blanks then add bench time costs for all the operations. An FX Barrel kit becomes affordable in comparison.

The FX Maverick cocking handle and fitting is the same cost as getting them CNC made.

It's just not feasible in this market.
