Umarex Notos...my notos can't group heavier slugs

Yes sir, they do. I'm not a fan, too much force on that little pin in plastic.
Did you notice a velocity difference between the V1 single hole TP breech for the FX kit and the V2 (3 holes in a recessed channel)

I'm getting significantly lower velocity with V2. But, much better accuracy

"V2"

Originally on this thread I showed how bad the notos was grouping with bigger pellets. I noticed when loading anything bigger than 13.43gn they did not feed smooth, almost felt like scraping. Anyway, I know all guns prefer certain weights and brands but the discrepancy between the 13 and 18 grain slugs @ 20 yrds made no sense so I finally sent the Notos back.

Gotta say Umarex handled it quickly and in about a week they sent me out a new rifle. Wasn't expecting that, thought they would do some work on the chamber or something. Anyway, first 5 shot group I shot @ 20 yds with 18.13gn JSB's was awesome!!! Group is high because it's actually sighted in for 13yds...distance from my back door to target.

Well I am happy as hell I can shoot heavier slugs now just fine!! The groups are about the same size of the pellet themselves :)

i imagine the all the transfer ports before the barrel tp are transferring near equal psi and then when that air gets to the barrel tp with the multiple ports, that air pressure drops in psi because now there’s space to expand. that drop in psi in the barrel transfer port even if very little will definitely affect your muzzle velocity.. kind of like a nicked barrel o-ring on a single tp barrel.

yes, the volume of the channel between the barrel ports will cause a drop in pressure, just didn't expect the results to be so dramatic, went from getting 845fps with the 18.13s to 800. Doesn't matter anymore, that's an old post. I sold the notos today.

Nice groups! Did you get a chance to do some groups out in the winter winds to see a comparison there?
Nope. Ended up selling

the heavy vks were just for shts and gigs. I managed to knock back to back to back to back sparrows off of a bald dogwood at about 55y in a good full value left to right 20mph wind.. that was done with .2175 17.5 NSA. This was the experience that opened me up to slugs. I likely wouldn't have pulled that off with pellets. However, No, i've never shot paper in heavy wind conditions.. Everywhere i can set up targets is sheltered by heavy tree and brush cover. The field i shoot long range in is between two VERY THICK plots of Heavily treed and brushed woods, in a valley. At home I have a small lane cut into the woods, it takes VERY VERY strong wind to actually start causing issues in there. My wind experience is in live situations.

Thanks for the wealth of info especially live situations as that’s my main interest.
