Notos or DAR gen 3?

I already have both a carbine (AEA HP semi) and a rifle (AVA) in 25 cal, but want something in .22 that will shoot CPHP's well.
CPHP's are cheap (have 20 tins), so I'll be shooting this gun a LOT on my ranch. I also have a scoped Diana Bandit in .22 cal that I use for closer range pesting and plinking - it works awesome with the CPHP's!

I'm kind of leaning towards the DAR as I'd like a nice traditional looking wood stock rifle that is probably a bit more powerful... my 25 cal AVA is plastic.
Notos is lighter and smaller a great for pesting, but my Diana pistol is also light and good for that.

What do you guys think?

Well, what exactly do you need it for? Do you need to shoot past 50yds? Or are you trying to stay within 50yds? If you want to do the occasional beyond 50yd - 60yd I would go with the dar 3. Otherwise get the notos.

I like the look of the DAR over the notos...but the notos has a more purpose build...
Depends on your needs really🥴🤓🤷‍♂️
Either one would be awesome for the price🎩🤙

That's the thing, I don't have a need. All the bases are covered with the other guns.

My reason for getting a Notos or DAR is so have something super cheap to shoot (plinking & pesting). I think I'd rather have the extra range of the DAR vs the light weight and cost savings of the Notos.

Well not only would you hsve the extra range, but the extra shot count, and extra power. The DAR 3 isn't really that heavy either.

Hell no, the DAR ship has sailed, get the notice or even better yet the JTS Max in 25 caliber! You want long distance, you want the JTS Max.

The Notos is amazing but I would use it for 30 yards or less.

The JTS Max looks good, but it's $120 more than the DAR - $299 vs $419.

What do you mean by the DAR ship has sailed?

Having owned a DAR G3, and just received my notos, I vote notos. It wond do long range, the DAR was giving me about 3/4" groups with crosman premiers at 75. I sold the DAR off before I had any issues with it. Nice guns, just didn't feel comfy with it.

The notos hasn't missed a single target yet for me, im using it for pest control to about 40 yards.

I thought dar was exclusive sold through dar for high dollar but now sold at pa cheap... Hmmm.....
Hateful,
DAR Generation 3 was exclusive to DAR, first priced at $299, then up to $399, now back to $299 at Pyramyd Air. $100 price jump upset many, sales fell off. PA does have frequent discount offers so should be able to do better than $299. Hadn't heard other DAR complaints, except for occasional China QC issues, not unknown to products made there. WM

Not a pcp guy but for all around general fun and versatile the notos..

Pistol grip , carbine stock , 22, irons , dot, scoped, good power from user reviews here and elsewhere. Just comes off as a nice round and about convertible shooter.

I like what i said above .. you got some convertible choice all around fun with the notos. ( Opinion). Not to say the dar would dosapoint in just a rifle only.

For me between the 2 it would be the dar. Unless you have the specific need for a lower power carbine why not get something more versatile. I can’t speak for the dar Gen 3. I had a Gen 2 and it didn’t go well. It was terrible. I currently have a Airacuda max that has been awesome so far. It looks very similar to the dar 3 but who knows. I will say the Airacuda max shoots the crosman 14.3 super point very well. I haven’t tried the hp but generally if a barrel shoots one of those it will shoot the other.

This is kind of what I'm thinking too. My scoped Diana Bandit pistol does lower FPE pesting inside 30 yards.

My only rifle right now is a AVA plastic stock in 25 cal. Awesome for the price @ $250, but mine is setup with a Wraith 4K night scope. It's big, heavy and unwieldy. A nice compact rifle would round out the collection a bit better than another carbine, me thinks.

The DAR is made by Xisico, JTS is also made by Xisico. The DAR is a generation old, the DAR was being sold for $499.00 until the JTS came out, then it dropped to $299.00.

The DAR has dead ended, the JTS exceeds it in every way and was cheaper by $89.00 at one time.

The DAR was good but it's over, time to move on.

**Oh, the Notos is freaking AWESOME, get one!!!
