Umarex Notos/Zulus HD

Hello,
I’ve ordered a Zulus HD non LRF 3-12 for my Notos. Has anyone mounted one on their notos? I’m wondering if it will mount right up on the pic rail or will I need to get something to make it work? Thanks, Danny.

Got it mounted up with 10rd maples. Still working on the cheek riser.

Pairing the DNT Zulus/Thermnight with a Notos is a bit of a PITA for 2 (or 3 if using aftermarket magazines) reasons:

First: The small (halfcut for finger clearance around the sidelever) picarail behind the magazine cutout is too short to mount a digital scope mount, as it is much longer than a regular scope ring, if you do mount it directly on the rail, the front tightening screw has nothing to clamp onto...(because of the mentioned cutout finger groove)

Second: the plastic picarails on the Notos are quite flimsy, so it is not a rock solid (meaning: unmoveable) fit when the DNT is mounted. (you can move the scope sideways a bitdue to the flexing of the plastic rail(s)).

And third: if you are using (and you should!) any aftermarket magazine, you need more height to fit under the scopemount.

Here is what I started with:

A small QD riser seemed to work fine at first, but since the rear picarail is just plastic and bolted on the action, there is quite some play. As I found out when I had to rezero for windage quite often. To mitigate this a bit I installed a green laser, so after powering on the scope I always do a quick check to see if the scope's reticle is vertically in line with the laser dot. When it's off, some sideways force on the scope will bring them back in line.

Obviously not ideal, so then I concocted this:

A getto style solution, made of two risers and a piece of picatiiny rail all screwed together.
Since the whole thing is now bridged between 2 pieces of Notos rail there is a lot more stability. (but yet there is still some play, however much less and very acceptable now. (But for piece of mind I still do the laser check every time before a shooting session!)

Of course now I needed a heightened cheekrest as well to get my face lined up correctly. The rail is high enough to accomodate a 12shot magazine.
(Cheekrest from Ali, the risers and piece of rail I had in my inventory, handguard from eBay)

On my bottle Notos (Botos? ;)) I used another solution, which works very nice as well:

Extended rail from Amazon

Bottomline: Not an ideal combo to setup, but soooo much fun, and the DNT scopes are beyond awesome! (luckily there is great nice reticle with MIL or MOA tensions, since you didn't get the LRF...)

Good luck!

I used a dovetail to picatinny on the pp750 and picatinny riser on the Notos. Haven't had poi shift with the Notos. Riser was needed to stay clear from the 12-round Carm mags.

It's the FX cocking handle for the Wildcat/Maverick. You'll need to do some work yourself to make them fit the Notos. If you don't want to do that, there are ready made options available now like these
Sorry about the weather :p:cool:
