Tuning nova freedom, help please

after replacing leaking pressure gauge, when trying to pump up, the handle kicks back, like there is a one way check valve or mechanism that is leaking the newly forced air back into the chamber where the pumping mechanism is located.

please, if you can, name and locate the checking valve ( mechanism) that is probably at fault.

i was certain no to get anyw dirt in the opening when replacing the gauge. pure coincidence?

It’s the a bad o-ring in the pump. If you search pump rebuild on Gateway to Airguns forum there is several posts on how to repair.

Be warned howver

O Ring sizes are listed as CSxOD as opposed to the US standard of CSxID

I've had the same problem with my aspen. There is a double check valve where the pump attaches to the receiver. It not only suppose to keep the HP air from pushing back into the pump like you're getting but also keep the HP air that you can add to the tank from a compressor from leaking.
