Gamo NP Ram leaking?

Assembling my Gamo Bonne Collector i heard a hissing sound when compressing the ram. Released the press and sound stopped. Back pressing it, the sound did not reoccur. It is possible that the shaft of the ram did not center inside the piston and got pushed a little sideways. So my question is: can a gas ram temporarily leak? It still works!

I shoot gas pistons in most all my rifles. I’ve rebuilt a few. From what I see of the piston construction I doubt you could have a temporary leak without further problems. If you aren’t loading any FPS you are probably all good…IMHO. Stay well👍🇺🇸😉
Is a mystery to me. I have been experimenting with the actual piston, made a new one. Since trying some new mods, ended up hitting the bottom of the ram. And even bottomed the piston on the top of the ram main body. The new piston is in, so I don't know if i lost some fps. Only way to find out is replacing the factory piston.

I found out for sure that the ram is leaking! Trying to figure out at what weight it starts compressing on a bathroom scale :) At one point i felt a spray. It may be when the pressure is not perfectly straight on. Still works well enough. Before i buy a new factory ram, will play with helical springs.

Finally got the spring to replace the ram on my Gamo Bonne Collector.
Ordered a strong spring with .152 Dia. coils. Am happy with the results.
820 fps with Premiere magnum 14.3 gr. When will miss taking the gun
apart, will try with factory piston and different seals. Maybe even shim
the spring.
