Tuning NSA 24.8's Taipan Vet Long

... so I got home from work and it was a balmy 23* ( which is about 20 more than its been lately! ) AND I still had about 15-20 minutes of daylight to work with.

My vet is more or less stock with noteable changes being a huma reg in it and plenum extension on the airtube. I'm pretty sure the OEM barrel is 550'ish mm in length. Reg is 132'ish ...

This gun loves h&n 23g (.217) slugs at 922 fps. They are spot on out to 100 yds with regular repeatability. In stiffer cross winds they do tend to get pushed around so ... I've been wanting to find something a little heavier that I can push w/out having to tear into the thing and make a lot of changes. This *quick* test out in the back yard at just 27 yds shows promise. I attached my chrony to it knowing it would likely be a little slow, and then just turned the hammer adjuster up. Frankly I was surprised that I was able to get it over 900fps ... wasn't sure if the reg was going to allow it. 914 on the third shot. "OK... " I say to myself. Let's slap a target out there and see what happens / see if there's any consistency. 7 shots ... 5 of which look to be darn near same hole. This is just off of a rickety home made shooting table with a bipod up front. Nothing but my shoulder in the rear. In the coming weeks as the weather (hopefully) starts to break I'll be eager to take this out to 80, 90, 100 yds and see how they hold up.
