What is the difference between silicone grease and dielectric grease?

I use dielectric grease on a my o rings. It is made of silicone. You will have to check what the compound is made of. Silicone is just naturally a dielectric but it could be possible that someone came up with a dielectric that is not silicone grease. If it is silicone grease it is a dielectric and is still what I use on orings.

Dielectric grease is silicone based it costs more, is thinner and stays pliable. It is an insulator and made to seal electrical connections.

Silicone grease is less expensive, thicker and cures harder. It is made to lube and preserve rubber.
