O-Ring Material

My dad gave me his pump BB gun and I am trying to fix it. It's more sentimental to me than it's with worth, but it doesn't hold pressure. I am going to replace the o-rings but I am not sure what to get. I see on McMaster Carr many types(oil resistant, chemical resistant, polyurethane?, etc..) is there a particular type of material that is most desirable? I would consult the company but they don't exist. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know how much heat you create when pumping a "pumper" but I did try using urethane orings for my "oring sealed piston caps" made for my Beeman R9 and HW95 springers because urethane is a very tough abrasion resistant "rubber". Problem for urethane as an "oring sealed piston cap" was the fact that standard polyurethane has a very low tolerance for heat (-80°F to 200°F) and easily melts and it's a relatively expensive material. For my oring sealed piston caps I found that military spec 75 durometer Viton orings work well for my oring sealed piston caps and are rated at (-15°F to +400°/440°F). But for short working periods it will take even higher temperatures.

Anywhoo.....I guess the appropriate oring material is dependent on the "pumping" temp and pressure.
