O-Rings for nerds

Ran across this document tonight. 13 years in the machining industry and I never knew how little I actually knew about o-rings... Hope someone finds this of use.

Wow, 99.9% of that was over my head BUT,, I am sure there is good and better and best O-rings, In 10 years I have never had to replace a O ring in my guns, I hope when i do I can get the best O ring for the job...

Hey, I resemble that remark! I am certainly one of those nerds (thankfully I get paid for it).

It's a great design reference for all types of O-Ring glands, and a good education on materials! Really gives a window into how much effort goes into the design and manufacture of the precharged guns, and how critical it is to keep those interfaces in good condition.

The mention of quality of o rings made me remember, wasn't it o ring failure that brought down Challenger?
