O rings installation tool

Hello all. What tools or gadgets do you guys use to install these very tiny o rings such as for regulators. I had to replace some o ring in a regulator about a year ago and those damn things are a pain. I got it on eventually after tearing up two and its all good now. So just wondering if you guys use anything that would make replacing these tiny o rings easier.

I think Captain O-rings has glass filled nylon tools and maybe some brass ones. Witches hat expanders are great as well. Wished I had thought about using a plastic tip.

I machined a taper from 4mm to 7mm to install some o-rings on a GK1 probe. The original o-rings are NBR80, but they are hard to find, so I used NBR90 o-rings. The 90's are a bear to stretch, even with the taper. NBR70 isn't recommended for GK1 probes, at least according to Parker O-rings, due to extrusion under pressure and gap.

@Ricklin , I am curious to get a hold of those pierced ears expanders just for the fun of it. They are cheap as a set. Maybe they would work with some mods or not. One time I was trying to think of something to expand the end of a tennis racket grommet and came across BDSM brass studs in a kit of different sizes. Seeing as the tool that had the express purpose of expanding grommets was no longer available the pointy brass/steel collar studs worked:) Odd where you can find cross purpose tools.

The stainless steel witches hat type work best esp. for tiny hard O rings. Do put a light film of Parker Super O-lube on the tool prior to use. Having multiple sizes for the tiny hard o-rings is the ticket.
Didn't have any Super O-lube on hand, but did lube with silicone oil. I machined my witch hat out of 1144, since that was my round stock closest to 7mm (3/8 = 9.5mm). My stainless was 1/2", so I went with the 1144.
