Off Hand position in FT

Bberg7794, what you are describing as offhand is what those of us that shoot High Power & Vintage Military would consider a "Hunter's stance". Our Shooting offhand stance ( what the military uses for offhand/standing) is more of what you described as standing. Feet close together more perpendicular to the target, leaning back to get gun weight over the feet, support elbow of leading arm on side of stomach/hip. I have my nontrigger hand under the trigger guard.

Its squatting.

When FT started, we just said “standing” or kneeling, or sitting ... dunno why it changed to offhand, Also, no shots were “forced position”, and the course designer simply arranged targets in a way they favored certain higher or lower positions without insisting everyone do it that way. I still think the old way was more interesting, but the advent of GP type cookie cutter matches forced more standardization.
