N/A Off Hand Shooting Gun

Fx crown. Extremely well balanced. Very light weight barrel, so it is not overly front heavy like a lot of guns. Shot cycle is also very quick and balanced which is another reason this gun is so accurate.

It's a very subjective thing, and an individual preference. Some like a short rifle that balances between the hands, others like more weight in front. It can't really be a general recommendation. Whichever you prefer, it takes a lot of practice to attain the proficiency you seek. A comfortable cheek weld position is very important, and many people need an adjustable comb to achieve it. No matter how much you practice, find a rest if possible. Using the side of a tree, or a rock, etc. is infinitely steadier than all but the very top shooters ever develop offhand.

Hi All,
I wanted to get a feel for people's thoughts on an off-hand shooting gun. Primary use- Targets, but I also like to walk around my property and just shoot what I see. I am not interested in a dime-size group at 100 yards if that makes sense. TIA
.177 springers are a great choice for this like HW97 or TX 200

What do you have ? You can shoot any thing off hand . If you shoot springers now use the one you have . If your thinking of buying one Then maybe a HW30 or 35 if a new PCP Then an Air Force (less $$) OR Marauder pistol combo stock and will work great for your description .
Hi, I have several guns and I use them all at one time or another for off-hand shooting. I just want to get a feel of what people use and get exposed to new guns. For example, the Daystate revere is a gun I would never have looked at but per a suggestion in the thread I looked it up and now I may get one. It's just part of learning and the fun of the hobby

You cannot go wrong with the Daystate revere , a bit of money but worth it .

Off-hand shooting is the only way that I've ever shot, firearms or pellet guns.

Sure, I've used the hood for support of a friends truck for LONG distance firearm (both rifle and pistol) shooting many years ago. But never made a habit of it. And my short "range" here at home, there's really no room for anything but a chair, without shortening an already short distance.

Beside, we all know that todays guns are MORE than capable of tight groups, over most shooters. So I see it as a challenge to the shooter to be even close to what the given gun is capable of.

So may I ask what you use?

Can't really be stated how good the crown is at what it does unless you've used one and just know. Especially the ones that came with superlight barrels. Mine with synthetic stock, 4x scope, and a small moderator weighs 7lbs. I think with the full size scope, accessories, walnut stock I'm closer to 8.75 lbs, but because of the barrel being so light, most of the weight is still balanced rearward. So the gun ends up feeling more like a 7lb gun in the hands. Still. Cheek weld is perfect even without adjustable comb. Grip angle is perfect. The whole thing exudes perfection. Trigger could be slightly better than it is, but not by much, and is honestly a perfect trigger for hunting, leaning more toward a match trigger.
