Oiling Daisy 880 powerline

Hello, the manual says I can use a non detergent 10-,20-, or 30- w motor oil to lube this gun up, there's also pellgunoil which I might just use. But it says to lightly oil the sponge-like pad (visible when the pump bar is fully extended) I have heard not to do this because it will cause the pad to stick to the walls and rip off. To you 880 owners, do you oil that pad as well as the other lever hinges? Also if you do how often, how much (I'm guessing just one drop) , and which lube do you prefer? Thank you. Sorry for all the questions, I am new to air guns.

"22junkie"The easiest thing to do is get some Crosman Pelgungunoil. You can get it at Walmart sometimes, but I pretty much do all of my airgun shopping on line. I just oiled my 880 with it.http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Crosman_Pellgun_oil/222
For about the same price as you pay for that 1/4 oz of pellgun oil you can get 32 oz of 30WND oil at Wally World. Same stuff w/o the red dye.Lifetime supply

edit to add the MSDS sheet right from Crosman
