Airforce Ok Im ready for a .357 air rifle. Which one?

So I have an update. Pyramid airguns has a 20 percent off airforce guns. So I ordered the .357 Texan carbine. Couldn’t pass up on the price of $854.00 Ordered some pellets to play with because I already have lots of .357 slugs from an old carbine I had years ago. I bought some FX hybrids in .357 too. Hopefully i can tune the gun down to shoot this lightweight slug in the 900’s and get a few extra shots. Thanks for everyone’s input and help.
Good choice.

Just to be clear. I have a .457 Texan carbine with carbon fiber tank and tx2 valve. I also have a slightly modded .25 condor ss. So I’m looking for a .357 caliber rifle for fox and coyote as my upstate property is being over run. My friends are asking me to hunt them off their back deck as they are getting too close. I also just want a 357. So Obviously Im a Airforce fan. I also like the carbine length. So I'm deciding between the texan carbine/texan ss or the recluse 11. Any other suggestions would be appreciated under $1500. I have cf tanks and 2 compressors so air is not an issue. Just want to know if the extra $500 is worth it for the Texan over the recluse?
I own a Benjamin Bulldog in .357 with the power tune upgrade... ?

Though very different designs, the Texan 357 Carbine and the Bulldog M357 compare fairly closely:

Texan 357 Carbine
Weight: 7.5 lbs.
Length 39”
490cc, 3000psi
Up to 300fpe
Side lever
Single shot

Bulldog M357
Weight: 7.7 lbs.
Length 36”
440cc, 3000psi
Up to 300fpe
Rear side lever
5 shot magazine
Texan 357 is 400 fpe, 100 fpe more than m357

I have two Texan .357's
A carbine which slipt the valve poppet after about 20 rounds

And a SS which split the valve poppet at about 100 rounds

Carbine with 150 grain is putting out 846 fps at a high

The SS(same damn platform) 786fps with the same ammo.

My Benjiman Bulldog(second gen) with mods pushes 150 grain at 846 fps.

I do not see the Long .357 making 400 ft lbs

Both mine shoot less than advertised.

The OP was interested in the .357 Texan carbine. According to Airforce, it’s 300fpe, same as the Bulldog:

I just saw this recent video of the new Mora .357 and it is pretty impressive!

What I think is cool is that it can do a lot more than just hunt as it has a 9 round magazine that is designed for slugs, comes suppressed & quiet enough to double for a lot more target and just plinking with pellets, etc.

It does have great power but not a limited single shot hunter as it has 130-305 jules and up to 30 shots per fill, adjustable assisted valve, externally adjustable regulator, comes with case, extra mags which are ambidextrous, suppressor, 2 stage adjustable trigger. Here are the specs,

Thats why I would never get a carbine, you give up too much power. Here is my 308 and only 3000 psi, all most 100fps faster than your bulldog and my aea big 9 stock.

Im having a difficult time getting parts too repair both my new broken Texan .357's.

Promised for 2 weeks now parts will ship "Tomorrow" and tracking will be provided.
I do understand it's the holidays.
They already have my money......

Once parts arrive I still have to troubleshoot why my SS is 100 fps slower than my Carbine and the SS .357 pushes in the barrel easily.....carbine is tight but stronger.....and also splits valve poppets.

Any update on your. 357 Texan Carbine?
Wonder what fps you ended up with.
Unfortunately I had a family emergency and had to travel out of state. I will be doing some pellet and slug chrono testing next weekend (MLK weekend) I’m going crazy waiting. So far I have Hades pellets and fx hybrids to shoot plus I have a lot of assorted slugs to try from an older Crosman pistol turned into a 9mm. It has been very cold n windy here in NY so hopefully I can get thru it. I just put a brand new wraith NV scope on it and will sight it in. I have 2 friends with coyotes and raccoons so if possible I will get out at night and try that out and hopefully get something on video.

I'm in a similar boat.
I work offshore. Both my broken texan parts are in but I have a few days left at work.
Unfortunately I have just missed my 30 day window to return either gun from being out here.
Hopefully they get right.
My Carbine cracked two valve poppets pushing 150 grain at 860 fpsand my SS is anemic only pushing the same 150 grain at 760 fps.

Put the Ss tank on the Carbine to rule out the SS tank/valve and fps were 850 fps.....2 shots the valve poppet split.
The carbine has a tighter bore......but that may be what's causing the poppet split.

Be ashame if sub 200 ft lbs is all these platforms can do even though they state 790 fps with 170 grain.

So I just got upstate today and it’s cold and snowing. I only sighted in the wraith night vision scope to 30 yards for now. I only got to test velocity with 2 slugs due to the weather. But with the fx hybrid 68 gr I got 1019 fps and second shot was 997fps. I also shot the zan 100gr hp and it shot at 981 fps. I could handle testing in the cold but the snow is coming down hard and I can’t write anything down. So once I can do some shot strings I will update.
