OK So I'm Impressed by Daystate

Just got a new Daystate Red Wolf Safari in .22 cal. Decided to see what all the fuss is about. Decided to just unbox it, fill her up, put on a scope and shoot to see what she could do. No Barrel cleaning, no break in, nothin'. Was told by AoA to shoot the JSB RD Monsters on Medium power to test her out. So I did. Pics follow below.

It was about to rain here in NM, major thunderstorm moving in so I didn't have much time - but had to shoot, you know? I shot only four groups of five - first 5 were 25.39 gr Monsters .22 in single shot, second same group from magazine, third group was JSB 18.13 Jumbo in single shot and fourth group same from magazine.

I did get in two groups of 10 shots at the very end, pics included.

The conditions were calm to 2-3mph winds. Overcast, 5,000 ft MSL.

50 Yds. to Target, shot off bench with bipod (installed by AoA did a great job) and rear sand bag rest.

Very impressive groupings "out of the box". The rumors about the Daystate magazines are true, they are not as accurate as single shot, in fact quite disappointing in comparison as you will see.

The Redesigns were averaging 980 fps (54 fpe) on the Medium setting. The JSB Jumbo 18.13 were averaging 1055 (44 fpe) on Medium. I know this is an HP gun, but that is ridiculous at 85% of max power (on medium as stated by Daystate). Can't wait to try it on HIGH/LOW to compare. I think the JSB 18s will do better on LOW power.

Anyway, here are the results, not definitive by any stretch, but all I had time for:

First 5 shot Group 25.39g Redesigns (Single Shot Loader) 50 Yards -

Rain came, last pics taken under indoor lighting.

Remember, this was a factory, uncleaned barrel, no screws tightened or checked. Filled to 250 Bar, using factory Medium setting as it arrived. Only addition was a Huggett moderator to dampen the sound, but it's not that loud in .22 anyway. Was getting about 76dB out of that set up.

In conclusion, the gun is beautiful and finished with precision and first class workmanship (will send pics tomorrow if sunny). Shoulders well, fits me perfectly. The trigger is as nice as my Anschutz 9015, which is set at 100 grams, and feels the same too. When I have more time I will get a shot count and shoot at different settings with different pellets. This was barely a taste of what this gun can do. I look forward to a long relationship and many days of great shooting.

Thanks for reading guys, and shoot straight and shoot well.

As requested, here are some pics of said "out of the box" Red Wolf.

The photos don't do justice to the depth of the walnut, it is a beautiful stock.

Outfitted with Athlon Midas Tac 6-24X50, under fore end picatinny rail with Atlas bipod, and sporting a 0bD 4.5" moderator that looks really good with that carbon fiber shroud in both size and dimension.

She's been cleaned and lubed (I know, Yo - that's what she said) and is ready for a few tins of lead. Only had about 40 - 50 shots through her on first day. It's monsoon season here and the rains come and go. Though I caught a pretty good sky today, haha.
