Results OKC Gun Club Field Target Results 11/21/20

It was a bit chilly and a little drizzly this morning, but 20 people (19 shooters) came and had a great time.

This morning's course had 13 lanes (11 in the woods, 2 in open field) for a total of 52 shots.

Our Tulsa area shooters traveled early to make the deadline, and they came to play hard, taking 1st place and tying for 2nd place.

1st Dave C. (50) Owasso, OK

2nd Ric C. (49) Owasso, OK

2nd Steve H. (49) OKC

The regular season is over, but we will have matches where weather allows throughout the winter. Emails will be sent to notify of events.

Good shooting!

Mike

Thanks for the compliment! We think it's starting to look good too and it's getting quite a bit of use. As we get more established as a club other shooting classes will probably be recognized. But, for now we only support one class, basically a free-for-all event.

We did have two shooters bring their pillows to shoot with. But everyone else was sitting on a bucket.

As always, I had a blast! The OKC club is on the fast track to be a Midwest magnet club for FT. They consistently have close to 20 shooters a match. Lanes being shared with the archery club in the wooded part of club adds to a natural wind break and a more realistic wooded hunting environment.
True, it’s almost all PCP HFT class but that’s determined by the shooters’ interest who show up, not the club decision. Everyone is welcome.
A couple of noteworthy points I noticed from the score board, other than the excellent turnout is:

The average score was 42 or a 81.5% kill rate. This is great considering more than half of the participants have been shooting FT less than a year.

Three shooters were using the new Avenger and shot an average score of 37. Charles pictured next to the score board shot a 33 in his first official outing.

Four shooters chose to shoot a Marauder and averaged above the overall average with a 44.
Five shooters were pulling the trigger on an Air Arms rifle including a springer and averaged 43.6

Hawke optics was the glass of choice with 42% while an overwhelming 80% of JSB pellets were used to his the KZ’s a total of 805 times.

So put the Oklahoma City FT club on your 3rd Saturday of the month calendar and come enjoy some Oklahoma air gun hospitality.
