Results OKC Gun Club Field Target Results 9/18/21 (+pictures)

This morning was super nice weather and it was appreciated by all. I think summer is letting up, but it did get warm by the time everything was picked up. So, thanks for the watermelon, Randy!.

We had 17 shooters slugging away on 14 tough lanes. The best score we could muster today was 49 out of a possible 56. Good shooting Butch E!

We were missing a bunch of our regulars as, well as a few we were looking forward to meeting from Arizona. Hope all is well with those who couldn't make it this morning.

1st - Butch E 49/56

2nd - Mike M 48/56

3rd - Rick C 47/56

Another phenomenal match put on by the guys in OKC. Although it was a bit warm, you couldn't blame a missed KZ on the wind.
speaking of KZ's... few were the 2" we normally would see. The standing were really challenging! 14 and 18 yards (ranged) with no larger than 1"!! (Yes, I did get at least one) Also, a fun and challenging sprinkling of 1-1/2" 35 yards and out let you know if your holdovers on your range card were accurate.

It may be hard to see but tape is used on the backside of the faceplates to maintain the integrity of the KZ's. It's a real plus when the target is dark colored in a shaded area and has been shot at by 10 squads before you.

Did I mention the watermelon??

Randy brought out a diced up melon for an after the match snack and it hit the spot! Thanks Randy!
Anyone attending the upcoming Republic of Texas match know the OKC club will have their monthly match the week before. A great place and time to practice before this legacy GP.
Also, those of you who are traveling across country back from the EBR and want to shoot a fun FT match, this would make a great stop over on your return.
See everyone at the next one on October 16th!

Oh yes; I assure you that Texas gun is real! Have you never seen the size of Texas squirrels?

BTW, that Mark W guy CLEANED UP in Springer class; yet the OP gave him no credit whatsoever. What's wrong with you Okies anyway; did your daddies not teach you how to BRAG?

Honestly though, great match report M.

BTW, don't let that "honestly" part get out, cause it'll ruin my reputation. There I go a-braggin' (again)... now THAT'S how you do it!

I shoulda known that picture wasn't photoshopped! BTW, I have seen a few Texas squirrels, seems their heads get mighty big if I remember right.. :)

Mr W. does do well. As for finding himself in a class by himself, I'm sure he'd say it happens all time.😉 Although I'm sure he feels extra special when he puts it on us all with a sub 12 gun..

Come on up and join us for a shoot sometime. I'm hoping to make it to the upcoming ROT shoot!
