We had our May Field Target match come off great. The weather was great! We had 16 shooters show up! There were 11 HFT shooters, 4 Piston shooters!!! And one WFTF shooter. There was a .22 BPCRA match going on at the same time, so we lost about 5-6 shooters because of that. That .22 event comes once a year and it’s a fun match to shoot! The course was very green with foliage making some lanes dark but still able to see the targets. We added the “Dark” Troyer to reflect those lanes. We must keep you guys on your toes lol. The match went very well with only one cease fire and that was only because the small hook on the pullback ring on the faceplate came off, bummer! I wish all the matches would do that good.
The 11 HFT guys went at it with Thom and Rick coming out on top. They tied with 54’s. Before we could do a shoot off, most everyone had put their equipment up. They put their stuff up and start to put things away. Everyone is so helpful here at OKC. Thanks, you guys. So, we went to the standing lanes for the most hits to break the tie. Rick hit one more than Thom did. It had rained pretty good Thursday before the match and made it a little muddy out there. But that Didn’t seem to bother anyone from having FUN! Mike Massie was shooting his BSA to put him in 3rd place with 51. Right behind him was Mike Atwell, Caleb Dickerson, and Curtis Nelson all with 50’s. Curtis said that was his highest score to date, and man was he happy! Way to go Curtis. More to come, I am sure. We were glad to see Dave, Pearl, Bob, Rick, and Larry there.
What was pretty cool, that out of 16 shooters we had, 4 of them were Piston HFT! One of them, Jon Wren, it was his first FT match. He just got his TX 200 and sure got it dialed in! All the 4 Piston guys were shooting TX 200!
Mark was 1st in Piston at 55 and he was HIGH OVERALL MATCH WINNER. Great shooting Mark! He sure was a HAPPY DUDE!!! Jon in his first match and shot a 34 to take 2nd place, followed by Stand and Richard with their 31’s to take 3rd and 4th.
Stan drives a long way, and it is always great to see you, Stan. He has a great attitude and loves the Field Target sport!
