OKCGC’s June Field Target match 2023. Sorry for the late posting. Just been busy is all!!
The weather was a typical OKC Summer day with the temp at 82 and humidity at 55 percent by the time 12:00 came around!! The wind did not treat us too well by switching from a north to a south at around 12 mph. That did not keep the folks from coming out and shooting!
OKCGC Field Target had their June match with, hmmmm, let me see, a few springers maybe!! Well, what a match this was. We had 18 shooters come out this month. 11 came to shoot in Hunter class and 7, yes 7, shot with their Springers!!! So, I am going to start the post off talking about these guys. It’s great to have 18 come out and shoot, and to have almost 40 percent be Springers! We are so glad you guys decided to bring those puppies out. Springers are alive and well in Oklahoma for sure!
Mark Welker was on it shooting a score of 49! He took 1st place in springer. With Steve H. right behind him with a 41 for 2nd! 3rd it was Christian Foshee shooting a 37. Richard, Jon, Stan and Shawn came out with their springers making it a real pleasure to see all these springer guns come out and shooting these pesky little targets!!!! Thank you for showing that they are here in OKLAHOMA in abundance!
In the Hunter class Thom Davies was on it shooting a nice score of 57 for 1st!! Butch Everett was on his game as well hitting 54 targets for a 2nd place on the podium. Butch always has a smile on his mug and it was great to see you in 2nd. For 3rd place it was the always in the hunt Caleb Dickerson. Rick Cuccio and Caleb both hit 53 targets. So we went to the standing position to brake the tie. Curtis, Dave, Bob and Mike A were all in the 40’s. John, Steve and Gidean (Junior) took up the last 3 spots. It was great having all the shooters come out for our June FT match.
We want to thank you guys and cannot wait for the July FT match to happen on July the 15th which is coming up soon!
Oh yes, almost forgot, we will be having a nice lunch after that match. So come on out, shoot and do a lot of talking about
how the match went that day!!
